It takes a fuck ton of effort to cut up a tire, particually the bead wires. It will ruin hacksaw blades but I have not yet attempted with the grinder. I have disposed of a few this way. thin disc in slow grinder and a scalpel blade has it in 3 pieces very quick.

If its going to cost 4 quid Anyway I am tempted to post them without a return address. I do have some freepost return labels..

Got 250 carbs stripped. Lots of sand and shit in the float bowls, unsure where or how it has got in - was it hiding somewhere when cleaned years ago?! Or has it come from the tank.
Jets were blocked, soaking in carb cleaner in a mini jam jar.

I see you've already scored it out, but it's not particularly difficult to cut up a tyre with a knife, provided you're cutting in the right place. you don't need to go through much if any metal.

That said, I wouldn't be cutting all those tyres in 1 go.

Replaced the scary stretchy chain with something decent. Then went to tighten both mirrors as they were caving in when going fast.

First one I snapped my dads shitty allan key inside the bolt.

https://i.imgur.com/1Dfq4hD.png

With the 2nd mirror the thread was stripped so I went to remove the mirror and the mount fucking broke completely. This would only happen to me Laughing

Changed the oil in my steering damper. Was notchy on steering as it was full of air.

Out came about a tbsp of brown cat piss, in went some nice blue 5wt fork oil. Much better.

Did it like this, just need to move it back and forth a lot until all the bubbles are gone and it feels smooth:

All studs came out easy. Copper paste works - has been on the bike 5 years. Unsure if I will buy the same stainless nuts. Needs a dome nut cap to prevent exposed thread rusting.

Jumpstarted it.

Seems lights and starting her take more juice then it charges on the 4 mile run to work.

I'll have to take the scenic route. What a shame.

I'm also chucking in a MOSFET reg/rec.

On my CBR I used m8 stainless studs with brass nuts, the standard half M8, half M6 are shite. Lather them in copper grease and they come out easy... If for some reason they do not, the brass strips before the steel does and you just change the nut. Looked perfect 6 years on, both the nuts and the studs were free to move if required.

I have decided to use brass nuts. Did not have any. Half inch hex bar is no good.. All my tools are metric. Why did I buy it, other than cheaper?! Making 12mm, drilling tapping and parting. These will be blind nuts to seal the stud from winter salt.

https://s20.postimg.cc/cyhi90au5/IMG_20180727_122415.jpg

Will use straight M8 studs, unfortunatlty they are genuine honda. I did not ask wemoto what they were. If anything like the reducing studs these will also be made of cheese.

https://s20.postimg.cc/ak3eu7jfh/IMG_20180727_161053.jpg

Test fit all good. Studs installed with copper grease and a quick spray with silver paint to seal the last turns of thread.

MOT'd the 125. Advisory on chain being a touch loose, but she doesn't like it if it's any tighter/where you would expect it to be, and I'm not worried about it. As the tester said, she's not pretty, but she stops goes, and lights up where she should.

Ordered MOSFET and cheapo reg/rec for the VFR.

Stuffed some paper in between the seals on the leaky racebike fork leg, herded air back into the tyres, and took it for a ride for the first time in weeks.

First 5 minutes: what a stupid bike. It's gutless and it's annoyingly loud with the chavcan on it and you have to change gears all the time, I should just try and sell it to some mug.

Last 55 minutes: HAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, what a stupid bike. Redline it in every gear, keep it screaming like a Northern schoolgirl, any gap's a goal, I'm never being a mug and selling this thing.

I'm such a tart. Whatever I've just ridden is my favouritest bike ever.

Desperate attempts to quieten the exhaust so I could get onto the track. It actually worked quite well really while it was in the garage. Fortunately there wasn't a static noise test and they'd just black flag anyone who was too noisy. The fibreglass must have held up okay for the 100 or so miles to the track as it started to shoot out while on the track Embarassed
Apparently it was going everywhere

Glass fibre particles are a very good way to fuck up your/ anyone nearby lungs.

Nuts. Did not take long but repetitive to make 8 of them when you have no spare material to waste.

Fitted. Now just to make up a lower mount bush and collar. Honda want 10 quid and 4 days, too long.

I bought the parts to repair my old fuel pump a few days ago and finally got round to replacing them today, (definitely much easier than I thought), I could only test it on the car battery though.

Previously I had to tap the wire on the battery to make it do anything, today it was buzzing away and trying to vibrate out of my hand for the couple of seconds it was connected

I did pull many shards of brass out of my fingers, then made a lower mount.

Did a quick test of bike, she is sooooo quiet. Even with the m12 lambda sensor hole open.

59 plate Deauville

In the never ending story of sorting this one I have moved onto the rear end.

The bottom shock eye had some play, only about 2 mm so I thought I better sort it. Bits ordered and arrived, try to take rear shock off and the bottom bolt is seized solid. So remove bevel box, remove drive shaft and try and remove swing arm and yep it's seized solid.

A lot of huffing and puffing and 24 hours later we are left with this

https://www.bikechatforums.com/download.php?id=101360

which needs to go off to an old man in a shed to be seperated and have the new bearing pressed into place.

Bought a new cover
Oxford stormex as the old one seen better days
May use the old one over the new one in winter
Extra protection and the old one looks like it's covering an old knacker of a bike

Put it in the garage, started to close the door and it fell over Shocked

footrest snapped off

That will give me something to do tomorrow.

I always put the bike on the centre stand so my guess is that in frustration of being very hot and sweaty I stood on the centre stand too hard causing it to bounce, rock forward enough to come off the stand then topple over.

VFR750 -
Replaced all the Dzus fastners and some of the clips. Added the missing ones.
Replaced starter solenoid/Fuse assembly - This had signs it had been very toasty at some point.
Oil & Filter.
Sticker on the fuel cap - it was looking a bit grim.
Wound up neighbour that was bitching about the "Obviously illegal" end can up by showing him the relevant stamped numbers on it. Middle Finger
Debated adding phone mount - CBA.
Looked at the two broken studs I have discovered - CBA.
Made more noise for the grumpy old curmudgeon to whinge about. Twisted Evil
Tomorrow for replacing the studs, maybe phone mount if I have any will to live left after doing the studs.

125 -
Had it inspected for the insurance. No issues.
Chain lube and tension.
Discovered carb needs a clean, again. Tank is likely full of shit. Looking to remove it and seal it.
