BA9s? A generic LED replacement would be fine for neutral (indicators not so much.)

Unfortunately some weird little thing built in to a plastic base. never seen one before and despite searching could only find being sold by Hitchcocks (RE Nirvana) or MotoGB (RE Importer). Couldn't even bodge something else as the base doesn't go in to a "holder" but wedges directly in to the PCB where, when turned it locks and 2 little metal poles (built in to the base) line up to the PCB.

Have you got the link to the part or a photo? Curious to see this fancy base/holder.

This is where you link me 10 for a quid Laughing

At first when I removed the dead one I thought the bulb and the plastic bit were separates but after yanking the dead bulb out of the base it became apparent one is not meant to do that.

It slots in to that hole on the bottom left of the image, you then turn it 90 degrees with a screwdriver and the metal legs make contact

This is a common bulb normally found in instrument clusters on cars and lorries, if you need any just go into a motor factor

Yeah, I think Tankie is onto something Thumbs Up I'm looking at dashboard bulbs and the buzzwords seem to be T3, T4, T4.7, T5, etc. (T for twist I assume) bet it'll be one of those Smile

Quick look on fleabay suggests similar but they seem to lack the upper metal tangs that mine has. Next time it goes pop I'll look more seriously.

You Sir win the microwave, would you like to play for the fridge-freezer? Very Happy

Written down in the workshop book (which fails to name the bulb type, neither does Haynes). Thanks you've saved me a few quid next time.

XR250 has a 320mm front disc (on road rims), so has an aftermarket bracket / extender.

Removing bolts that hold caliper/bracket to fork so could remove caliper and pump out piston / clean etc
A bunch of copper looking threads came out with the bolt.

Then found torquing up front caliper and it just spun.

Looks like remains of a previous thread insert.

I'm actually a bit disappointed in myself, back when I was running spares shops, I could've given you the entire generic part number for your particular fitting off the top of my head, but with age comes senility, or as I prefer to call it, a reduced nerd quotient.

Just put '509 bulb' into the search engine of your choice and a suitable picture will appear.

Fitted a headlamp peak, underside edge is surprisingly sharp.

Are those peaks actually meant to do anything useful or is it just a pedestrian disemboweler?

Took the Honley RX3 out of the garage.
After 8 months of sitting there , it started first time Thumbs Up Smile .

Ran it for 20 minutes , rode around the driveway for 5 minutes.
Blew the dust off it ready to go back into the garage until I get time to use it after Christmas.

Pleased Smile

Bashed it with a hammer, but the cheap handlebar brake lock is well and truly jammed on.

Have requested attendance by the sinister fiend with an anglegrinder or crowbar or some other arcane piece of male wizardry to get the damn thing off.

Well yesterday I took the BMW Adventure in to have the ABS sorted, now on the little Cagiva Canyon and learning how to use indicators again.

Pictures?

Worth noting you may end up having to replace brake lever unless you can remove it to slide the half of the lock that will be stuck onto it down towards the thinner end, not forgetting the bit that will still be stuck on the handlebar.

Well the jammed gubbins is going on inside the lock, so pix are pointless at this juncture. It just looks like normal but inside the barrel, all the little bits of lock metal are all chewed up, rolling around in there.

Swapped the (4th gen) Viffers forks out for 3rd gen spares so I can do the seals on the Gen 4 ones. Remarkably trouble free.
https://i.imgur.com/Tek87qEl.jpg
The dust seals are properly toast, but the oil seals seem to be doing their job... might as well do both while I'm at it.

Swapped back to the boring can as I need to leave at 05:30 for a while, and while my neighbours don't currently care about the can, they would at that time. Also cleaned her, she was filthier than a pricey hooker.

It's your usual picture fail but just get the lock drilled out. get whoever is doing it to use several drilll sizes starting with the smallest to make it easier.
