5 day turn around. Result.
Added bonus I didn’t know about.
They come with a completely illegal (yet fun) modulating setting. 😂👍

You should really only quote the bit you are referencing fella.
I have no idea what doesn’t surprise you? That it was a 5 day turnaround? No me neither as that’s what the advert said. ____________________ 1993 RF400R - 2002 Bandit 1200 - 2012 1250 FA |

Sodding Nazi Tractor has eaten another set of front pads. I think I got nearly 3,000 miles out of these ones.
They don't appear to be binding, the pistons pushed back in with thumb pressure, the caliper is free to slide and got greased again: I'm confuddled.
This time I'm throwing in the cheapest pads I can find. "Armstrong", which are doubtless joke rebrands of Ang Gong or similar. They can't do any worse than the EBC and Brembo pads I've been trying. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Some calipers just seem to eat pads. My rear brakes won't stop destroying themselves. No binding, even when freshly rebuilt a very slight scarping sound at a couple of points on the spin. Now getting close to replacement, but only on the RH pad Been irking me the whole time I have had this back. Only exacerbated by the fact that to take the caliper off, the wheel has to come off, who fucking designed that?!
Put cheapo hand guards on. Apparently "universal" refers to the handlebars of children's scooters, because they were both too short and had been designed for handlebars without any switchgear/mirrors/brake levers. Solved in the end by jamming the respective ends into gaps in the wall, then bending the guards. On and secure, may need to faff with them next weekend, might be a bit high.
Checked battery...got paranoid after the heated grips flashed their battery saver light at me on idle. Admittedly it was at full power after just starting the bike...but still. 12.8V off, 12.4 with lights on, 13.3/5V on idle up to 13.8V at 3K. Seems a tad low but bike starts fine so just wait and see.
Fitted Toturo chain oiler. Seems to work? Not sure how to tell. ____________________ I tell you what, mathematically, I'm having it |

had a green laning off with my Honda
Thought the clutch was slipping, but realised that the clutch lever was catching on the handguard, bodged it as best I could, but still had to push the clutch lever out sometimes after a gear change on the ride home which is annoying, really ought to carry a spare
Also, rode home with luggage rack held to bike with cable ties in place of more than one bolt. Probably overloaded it with tools, and not checked to see if any bolts working loose.
Apart from stopping to get half a small tree out of the wheel, it was all good otherwise. Went out into Northants a bunch of lanes I've not done before, and a few I've not ridden for a couple of years.
Riding it through the ford towards the end was probably a mistake, it was really very cold, and almost up to the exhaust. |
