Ridiculous bodge job, in the snow after work last night, to get it sorted for work until the weekend when I can be less bodgy about it sorting it out.

Didn't fancy cutting stianless flex to length with a dremel in the snow, so it go slapped on as is. It works and doesn't leak.

Chucked CO2 in totally flat tyre. No obvious leaks or objects, so likely some joker in work letting it down.

I thought you were restoring a bike with your regular posts in this topic Smile How much have you spent on it?

Feels like it - Neglected by previous owner. Should be over the wrost now, exhaust was always going to be a PITA.

About £500 including buying the bike.

I like it. It looks like it's got one of those 'MotoGP' exhausts you see on E-bay for about £11.50.

The twunts sent me the wrong exhaust system, so it's been cut in two as the downpipe fitted(ish). I am putting a "Moto GP" endcan on it, but only because this has fuck-all baffle in it, which fucks the neighbours off at 5:30AM.

IThe looks seem to offend an awful lot of people ("It looks like you've bolted a fucking lamp to it!") so I'll find a less bodgy way of making it like this. If people are so easily offended, I take great pleasure in doing it.

Weather seemed perfect for a spot of spannering.....recently bought an electric heater for garage. Well used today.

https://i.imgur.com/mVH0Jqv.jpg

Valve check / re-shim, cam sprocket re-set, new spark plugs and replacing K&N filter with BMC
.....except none of that happened as I took my time undoing everything.
But garage was warm, radio was on, kept me amused for a day.

So tomorrow should get valve clearances sorted hopefully. They were on the limit last time, so interested to see whats happened in 14k miles.

I've made it less offensive. Some of you will still be unable to get over how someone elses bike looks, but hey, fuck you. That's how she's staying, though I may wrap the flex if it keeps moving back and burning the panel.

Bless.
Seeing as You appear to have a mental retardation, we'll go slow and explian it for you...

You want your fazer to be nice, but it's a shitheap, you can't polish a turd. You are playing at having a nice bike, while not actually having one. There are a lot of people on here who can say mine is a shitheap and have nice bikes for comparison... you're not one of them, bodyform. Now go and play, maybe drink some antifreeze, the adults are talking.

Replaced the shock in my divvy with a 10k XJ6 one. The original one was on 53k and was not doing much of anything.... XJ6 shock is a direct swap but very slightly taller. Then onto cleaning all of the salt out of the calipers from its winter duty...

All I did today was to start all three bikes, thankfully all three started with no problems. After a cold snap like we had last week does tend to kill batteries.

Took my original k for its annual mot at 34 years old and being stolen it pased the mot with no advisories. Even if the mot guy stickerbombed my bike. Definetly recommended in newcastle under lyme. Only garage I go to now if I need anything doing that I can't do myself.

Also replaced the callipers and put the spares on bled them, feels awesome. Got bored earlier so painted the mudguard as well not sure what to do next.

Cleaned and oiled the chain, which turned into a clean of the swing arm, which led to a full wash down and acf.

Then tackled the leaky back tyre which was leaking at the rim. Required steel scourer to remove the crud, found getting the tyre off/on pretty easy this time.

No more leaks, gearchange is now silky smooth after tightening the pinch bolt.
Can't wait to get back on it after a wee blast today.

^^ it's a flipped finger, i think?

Today I jet washed my bike, and jet washed it, and jet washed it, and jet washed it, then I jet washed it some more, and then even more, and then I gave it another rinse, and then I did all the bits I'd missed

I swear Cambs has the stickiest of sticky mud out of all of the green lanes I've ever ridden, it's like nature mixed clay and superglue to make a new supermud

Got the timing on Striple pretty close (cams out and sprockets adjusted).

Put the engine bits back together. Everything got a clean. Some new gaskets, silicone grease, new plugs. Throttle adjusted.

Valve clearances have barely moved since I adjusted them 15k miles ago.

Fired her up and balanced the throttle bodies

Needs airbox, tank and panels put back. But then hopefully that's that for another 2 years.

Yup, saves me the effort of doing it to ignorant fuckwits that have no spatial awareness outside of their metal cage.

Made a second attempt at cleaning the crud off both bikes that have been used most over this winter, it's been pretty full on this year, biggest amount of road gunk this winter than it has been for a few years..

Anyhow, worst of it off now, hopefully can finish cleaning them off over the next few days, weather & work permitting !!

Fortunately, I don't think we're likely to see the gritters out again this year, well, fingers crossed !!

Chain and Sprockets. Front was done for and about to start sharktoothing, rear and chain are decent enough, so bunged in a box for emergency use if needs be. JT sprockets, RK chain.

More Importantly, I didn't need to weld the front sprocket on.
