Good thing he chose to/had to wear a helmet else there would have been bits of brain everywhere.

Today I managed to start on the prep work, barcoat isolator going on so it doesn't damage the fibreglass as an undercoat. Then a quick spray of blue and chalkboard paint before the failing light.

Looks like it's right out of the 80s with my damaged camera. But first coat is done.

New chain and sprockets, old chain must have been robbing 10 horse power, bike has noticibly better acceleration and is easier to wheel about.

Might get an automatic oiler.

Replaced the brake fluid front and back. Just a case of keeping the reservoirs topped up (avoids air entering) and pushing the levers against a half open bleed nipple.
Surprisingly the old fluid wasn't too bad and could have stayed in - best to know when new went in though which keeps things safer.
Bike is now ready to use.

Over the last few weeks...

Replaced clutch plates, pressure plate, spring and bolts.
Unstuck a very stuck clutch (Cheers Stinkwheel).
Replaced clutch hose.
Rebuilt clutch master cylinder.
Rebuilt clutch slave.
Replaced starter clutch.
Replaced rollers, springs etc inside starter clutch.
Replaced clutch and stator gaskets
Replaced rear brake line.
Cleaned & rebuilt rear caliper.
Replaced both sprockets.

And probably a lot more I've forgotten.

Forgive slight potato vision pls?

Bikes have been unridden since October, not a conscious choice, just the way things panned out. so I've been giving them a gentle go over and tune up.

Yesterday was the CBR600F, needed nothing more than the battery charging and chain clean/lube etc

Today was the turn of the blue turd, which was a bit of a state after I stopped halfway through replacing the swing arm. So got it out, finished the swingarm, stuck some fork gaiters on it and a new chain guard to replace the one that I had to hack off due to corroded solid stuff Rolling Eyes and changed the oil. I also managed to get old engine oil all over the garden path and pavement outside the house)

not greatest pics but hey, they still pics

https://i.imgur.com/t0nEN0g.jpg

https://i.imgur.com/VGFBpBg.jpg

Still to do is replace battery lead on blue turd (previous owner had utterly bodged it and I broke the bodge Rolling Eyes part on order) and check lights etc etc

Yesterday morning rode X5 across to my mates (100 mile round trip) to kill two birds with one stone. Complete the running in process on the X5 cylinders and also sample the the delights of my YR5 now with a none toasted ignition. It’s a bit fucking mental, and that’s coming from someone who rides a litre bike. Until we changed the front sprocket to a 16 tooth it would wheelie in 3rd and skim the tarmac in 4th if you were giving it full fruit on the bumpy back lanes! Dyno next to finish the ignition curve. However the issue with popping out of 6th under max welly has returned, I’m hoping it’s external but we will see, doesn’t do it if you change up without the clutch though???
X5 hit 200 miles on way home so I celebrated by holding it flat out for nine miles to make sure it’s properly run in.

Bunged a generic map on the PCV for the busa, it was smoking like Dot Cotton after a sex session.

No smoke and sounds crisp. Will still need setting up properly.

Started the TL, it died after 30 seconds.

Unplugged the power commander and it started first time so that looks like its shat itself over the winter.

May just return it to standard and focus on the aBusa.

Unwrapped and started up after being laid up for 7 weeks.
Noticed a tail/brake bulb had blown so replaced.
Tyres held air, battery was stored inside so held its charge.

Job Jobbed, using it in the morning. Thumbs Up

New tyres went on last week, so did (the long overdue) tail tidy plus a fresh 8x6 numberplate. Also gave it a bit of a
clean although some might argue it didn't need one. Laughing Checked tyre pressures and fluids and lubed the chain. Made
a start on riding the chicken strips off of the new tyres yesterday but being my first ride since September thought it
better to get the old eye in before too many heroics. Stopped to fill up with super unleaded on the way home. Really am
very pleased with the tail tidy, great price, good quality and has really transformed the bike. First impressions of the
Michelins are good and nothing I've recently bolted on has fallen off so I'll call that a win.

I'm getting serious sidecar urges here - never in a million years did I think I'd ever appreciate them.

Here's your next passenger:
