It was ice all over the road due to runoff from the fields, so my friend of precipitation can suck my big, shaven balls.

Reflashed the firmwear for the power commander on the TL.

Took an hour to sort but seems to have fixed it.

Bunged a basic map on and she started first time. I'm pleased I saved the JHS racing map to a USB stick so I can bang that back on.

Need to service and MOT it next week.

The sun has been shining, the plants are starting to sprout and it smells like spring!!!

Edit:- this ones running rich too, gif has sound right click unmute.

Gixxer got new air filter + spark plugs. Adjusted rear brake lever. Removed TomTom wire + plug that previous owner had fitted.

Everything had a good clean with WD40. Threads and things oiled / slipped and silicone grease to stop water and plug stickage.

To do: Rear shock, front springs, brake strip front+rear, replace coolant, replace battery.

Bit further on with Gixxer tinkering. Side panels and front off....which resulted in a few hours with WD40 and toothbrush cleaning all visible bolts, casings, frame.

Eventually got to pumping out pistons on one brake caliper, giving them a clean. Initially 2 stuck. But all seem to be moving freely now.

Bar that connects the fairing panels. Was a bit rusty, so it got a some paint.

Swapped the seat allan bolt with a big thumb screw. Just makes life easier should I need to access the battery at the side of the road without whipping out the allan keys

Tried to change the oil. The exhaust pipe's right under the drain/filter cover. Can't get a socket on it, so the exhaust has to come off. Yeah, right, the two nuts holding the flange were pretty tight; the offside one was easy enough, but the nearside one was a crusty mass of rust that it was impossible to get a ring spanner or anything else on due to the angle of the exhaust pipe. So, after an attempt to chisel it off with a sharp cold chisel it got the flexible shaft grinder treatment and after one side of the nut was ground off it finally released. Grr! Then it started to rain. Obllcosk to it 'till mañana.

Corrected the time on the dash. It was at least 3 minutes too slow.

Dropped the fucker! Embarassed Rolled off the side stand as I was getting off in the drive and pinned me to the gas meter - schoolboy error. Lucky that neighbour is a biker and was around to lift it off me, but it'll take time to live that down.

Fitted a GoPro to the handle bars, got the picture nicely lined up and rode home...

Pulled the card to check the footage and realised I powered it up but never hit record!

Do you mean the engine stops?
Ignition cable breakage?

New cans on the Triple:

Ordered SP Engineering Stubby Moto GP cans in satin black. Price was £295, and came with 2 SPE neck scarves and a couple of stickers, which was nice.

Before installing, the stock cans...

Seat, side panels and stock cans off...

Link pipes in...

New cans on...

https://www.planetash.net/bcf/cans/6.jpg

Took a while to adjust so both sat symmetrically. A case of tightening everything up, loosen it all, adjust, tighten up, loosen, adjust...rinse and repeat until happy.

Seat and side panels back on...

Quite loud...even with the baffles in Shocked Tbh, longer journeys will require ear plugs as they do tend to reverberate in your head a bit. Also, bit of a heads up to any popo within half a mile that someone is caning it.... Think they suit much better than the fat arse stock cans and sound a lot better though. Now the only other problem is the tail section looks even more ridiculous than before. Think next weekend will be Tail Tidy Making Weekend.

Overall, very pleased! Thumbs UpVery Happy

Oil change, which I cocked up massively. Drained oil, removed filter, cleaned the surface, filled new filter with new oil and fit. Poured dirty oil into old empty new bottle, overflowing everywhere. Squeezed out most of the old oil back into drain tub. Only a small amount got mixed, mostly clean so I used it anyway.

https://i.postimg.cc/Kv80yHQ3/IMG-20190310-204833.jpg

Then did sprocket carrier bearing. Turned a bearing driver tool on lathe, to help get spacef in. Froze bearing, heated carrier, and it dropped straight in. Easiest bearing I have done.

Moved off from a parked position with the disc lock and sprocket lock still on the bike. Dropped it in full view of the public in a busy place. Embarrassed but no harm done. Never thought I would be absent-minded enough for this to happen to me!

Anyway, also replaced a oil filter adaptor seal (Yamaha 80s and 90s bikes often have an oil filter adaptor that can be swapped out for different regions and markets and oil filter types). The old seal had leaked and been dripping a few drops every night for weeks, and that adds up to quite a lot of oil top-ups if you ride often. Replacing it wasn't that messy, and I'm glad I finally got it done.

MOT'd it, Taxed it, oiled the chain.

Quick blast confirms the exhaust is loud.
