Sacrilege. It's like putting a roof rack on a Porsche. Very Happy
A longer rack doubling up as a wheelie bar though Thumbs Up

Pissed off with it.

Complete rebuild on the divvy rear caliper. Split it, painted it, new pins, pistons, seals and bleeders. Back together, all gleeming, would not bleed up. Noticed fluid getting past the main seal on one of the pistons....

Lesson learned, even to use oem brake seals.

That rack isn't going to last long with that box on, I give it 2 months.

Today I fitted a Slinky Guide Clutch Cable to my CBF500, pumped the rear tyre up and fired her up, ready for work Monday.

My red Inazuma had a new front tyre, replaced that crap Metzeler Lasertec for a Bridgestone BT45. The pads were still okay so left those alone.

Finished cleaning and reassembled spare callipers, noting that 1 year old aftermarket seals are shit, with dust seals going crumbly. I cleaned up the 17 year old OE seals which are in perfect condition. Fit new front discs.

Gave the Red Inazuma a wash, during washing I noticed a loose bolt on
the aluminium plate on the front mudguard. I tried to tighten it up but it
was just spinning. After feeling around I located a nut which seemed to
be a 10mm, broke out the 1/4" ratchet with a 10mm socket on an
extension, located the nut and managed to tighten the bolt.

Checked all my allen bolts after doing this.

Using this bike this week so I can scrub in my new BT45 front tyre.

Today I’ve -

Filtered through seemingly endless miles of traffic on the M6 then fought my way through Preston centre. I sympathise with any BCF’r stuck in their car there this morning. It was shit - and I wasn’t on four wheels!

Bled the clutch on the rsv as neutral was getting hard to find. Working a treat now. Gave the blade a quick wash and wipe down with an oily rag.

I surprised myself by being able to pick it up by myself.
(Not the Snarley)

When I got home last night, the GSX750 had fallen over, not sure whether wind, children or just manky old tyres. I managed to get into a position where I could grab a handlebar and a fork and lift it back onto its side stand.

This might not seem like a big deal, but I've *never* been able to pick up a bike when I drop them, not even a 125. I have very little core strength.

But I guess the effort of having to ride the Snarley differently than most Japbikes I've owned means I am using other muscles and they must have been secretly getting stronger.
Cool

The new old Nighthawk 250 got delivered two days ago and needs rejuvenating after a two year hibernation.

Last night I took off the old battery it was showing 11 volts until I pressed the starter when it collapsed to 2 volts and stayed there. I reckoned it was dead - well sulphated, so I used the code on the knackered battery to order a new one..... Just for curiosity, I put my chinky cheapo 'Intelligent' charger on it. This thing throws out massive radio interference and certainly wouldn't get European type approval, but after five hours of polluting the air waves this pulse type charger switched the red led off and turned to green. I checked the voltage. It was 13 volts so I left it alone overnight expecting it to collapse as sulphated batteries usually do to around ten volts because everybody knows that a battery that has been left for a year is fked right?
SURPRISE in the morning. The bloody things is showing 12.8 volts!!!

I put it on the bike and it whizzzes into life - an instant start. Bugger me. Why did I order that new battery before trying to resurrect the old one?

Today as well as starting the bike I insured it and booked it in at the nearest MOT station about 16 miles away. I live in the deepest country side and gave the bike a whiz down the local tracks. Goes great.

Front brake brake light switch is sticky - working not at all at first then erratically, idle speed is well wrong, one of the fork seals is weeping ever so slightly. Some chugging with old petrol.

WD40 sorts the brake light switch, Now hundred percent.

Slow running properly set.

Fork seal improves with a bit of use on farm tracks. New petrol sorts out the erratic running which was really only the odd misfire - probably water attracted out of the air by the stupid ridiculous ethanol content of the petrol. Ethanol is just dying to get together with water in any form at all. It is hydroscopic I believe.

Wipe bike over and contemplate a Monday MOT and then the road.......

Bikes a goodun I Think. will suit me fine.

The rack is not strong enough for that top box, it will bend or snap.

Now if you bought a Givi Rack, it would last longer.

The rack was designed for the box. Plus it’s never going to have more than a change of clothes in it. It has been bought mainly to use as a back rest. Not to go delivering lead to Russia with.

I’ll report back In a couple of months.

Scoots dead once again, refusing to start. Did buy a new spark plug but can't find where it goes, lost it now anyway
in the process of moving out of my mancave before its very recent demolition. Can't be arsed with it anymore.
Feels like its being immobilised, or like it's not getting any fuel. Wouldn't know how to check tbh. I'm just booking it in.
Bring it back when it works, poxy bloody thing, I'm too busy to sod about with it. I'm only getting it back on the road so I
can lend it to my mate for a year. I don't have the patience to faff about with it any more.

I always keep my machines stock. The rear view mirrors and turn signals were the previous owner's doing. Smile

I got the stock turn signals with the bike, but I do like the ones the previous owner put on.

I might fit 2-1 exhaust system, if I find one.

Is it bad that I moved my bike in full view of passers by just so I could see it out of the window.
