What, you didn't even like ... have a little sit?
A little vroom..?
Bit of a lean to one side even, as you walked past it?

Go on, tell us you weren't tempted.

Filled it with electricity because I'm planning on using for the first time in about 2 months.

Gave it a basic bath. White wheels are a twat to keep clean, as they seem to prefer to be grey at this time of year.

Moved it slightly so I could get some lamb out of the freezer.

Today, I replaced the rear sprocket carrier rubber cushions. The ones I removed were probably from when the bike was made (1987), judging by how hard they were and the amount of degrees I could rotate the wheel on the main stand while the gearbox was in gear.

£10 well spent, and I do recommend all of you to replace yours, if you haven't already.

I'm very pleased with the result. Smile

Struggled to decide whether to go home via Dartford Crossing or M2, ended up staying with the fog on the M2, at about 3 degrees.
Icicle fingers, even with a set of woolly gloves inside my main ones.
Brrrr, bracing!

Home now though.
Toasty,
Bike wrapped and chained again.

Swore at it because the battery doesn't seem to be keeping a charge any more.

I regularly electrocute mine; it either gets frightened and decides to retain charge to avoid GBH, or it actually charges the battery. Not sure which, but either way it keeps in line. Thumbs Up

It's because it's been used about 6 times in the last 9 months.

I thought about going out on the bike... but the weather looks to be nicer tomorrow Smile Reminds me of that old Cliff Richard song:

Procrastination
And aspiration
When I tell everyone what I intend to do
Procrastination
And resignation
I want the world to know I haven't got a clue

Took the key out of the ignition on the RC8. The key had been left in, but luckily in the off position, for over 6 weeks. Luckily the garage is secured.

I'd gone in to swap the battery back to lead acid for the next few months, as I'm not sure how much current the immobiliser draws. Looked for the key in the house couldn't find it (obviously!)

Swapped battery, no point as the indicator on the LiFePO4 battery was still showing as full.

When do you guys "get your bike back out" again?

I waved at the Snarley as I walked past it, and caught the bus to the bank.

Not necessarily less warm.
Just less of a faff.
No, even that's not true.
I was just too lazy to unchain the damn thing.

But it was an interesting exercise in seeing the world from a different perspective.

A few things have to coincide; a weekend day, not otherwise committed and dry(ish) but definitely salt free roads (so post-cold snap I avoid). Unfortunately around here the roads get salted merrily at this time of year through to Feb so unless we get a mild wet period to wash the roads down, the bike doesn't come out much.

Swore at it again because the battery is definately fucked. new one ordered from Wemoto.

I've no experience of 'not using the bike for a long period' before, it was a daily ride before COVID kyboshed the commute to Bristol.

Changed the fork springs, so now I will have much better handling when I push it around the garage.

April(ish) for the GSXR, when it was my main transport I rode that thing every day, year round (Beast from the East was oh so fun), she has earned sitting in a nice garage and being pampered all winter.

The other 2 will get used through the winter but I'll avoid days of heavy rain or snow.

I don't get people that totally stop riding between almost defined seasons. Dry winter mornings can make for lovely rides.
