To those of you that use them, do you guys opt for motorcycle cover that covers 100% of the bike (i.e. is in contact with the ground at all points), or one that leaves a few inches gap between the bike and the ground?

Pros of the 100%'er - completely sealed to the weather, nothing is getting 'inside'.
Pros of the 95%'er - possibly more resilient to winds due to tighter fitting, if any moisture does get inside (or there is already moisture on the bike at the time of fitting the cover), the breeze getting in through the small gap underneath should dry it?

Im aware I may be contender for most banal post of the week.

I got a new one at the weekend, as the one i had I bought when I had my 125, so whilst it was a tight fit on the Bandit, it didn't fit the Fazer very well at all.

THe one I've got now is an Oxford one from Halfords (£30). I got teh XL, but it was serioulsy huge - more like a car cover! Laughing Took it back and got the large instead, which is amuch better fit.

Covers completely the front wheel, and there's only the lowest part of the rear tyre exposed (literally the height of the sidewall off the floor).

The old one barely covered the exhaust, and I wanted one that would at least keep the rear disc and caliper protected as well.

I never cover mine unless the bike's dry, but it doesnt' matter (IMO) if the cover is on the floor all round - it's hardly going to be airtight anyway.

I have Stormex. Good cover but a PITA to have to put somewhere when actually riding (no garage, else the bike would be in that).

Bought one of these and fitted it to some plywood as a base:

Really good solution. Thumbs Up

I like that!

Any holes at the front to put a chain round?

Also, how much was it?

I would also mention that when looking for a cover, defo get one that has like a carry bag. Otherwise its a nightmare putting your cover in a rucksack when moving around especially if its been raining or whatever
