Clanger I feel your pain, i know this sounds mad but I resorted to putting vicks on the soles of my feet at night, this for some strange reason seems to have helped with the hacking coughing although i thought the person who suggested it was mad. You have to put socks on though.

I lost the ability to smell last week which resulted in me putting that much vicks across my upper lip in the vain attempt to clear my nose that my hubby said he couldnt sleep for the stench
