Hi guys,

I have a small bit of play in my rear sprocket where it rotates about 2mm without moving the wheel.

Is this a problem and if so what should i do?

Thanks,
Billy

I wouldnt worry about 2mm, The sprocket sits between rubbers that compress slightly as force is applied to the sprocket as you accelerate and brake and the absorb the shock to smooth out the ride. If the play gets over 6mm or so then id either pack the rubbers with some innertube or just buy new rubbers.

How compressible should they be because if i pull on the chain with my hand it pulls the sprocket slightly round and i don't think I've ever noticed it before?

Is it a hard job changing the rubbers?

Piece of cake, you can just pack them out slightly if you are worried, old bicycle tyre inner tube, cut into strips and pack it out.

Trust you Paddy Rolling Eyes

Good suggestion though, My cush rubbers are getting noticeably worn

I think I shall be hunting for an abandoned bicycle... Fark paying £45 for new rush rubbers Very Happy

What about a worn inner tube off a car? same shit but stronger right?
