.
Boss is away this week so I took the opportunity of spending some of his time today fitting a new seat cover. Wink

I do need to make a few alterations to it here and there, most noticeably at the front where is splays out a bit when pushed into its locked position against the tank and causes it to wrinkle. I got one of the seams out by about 1/4" But I know what the problem is so easily sorted. Smile

I will probably leave it as it is for a few weeks though before I re tighten it all up again as the material may stretch a bit anyway.!

Quite please with the look. - What do you all think.?

I like it, where did you get it from if you don't mind me asking?

I'd quite like something similar!

Here you go.!

Takes a couple of weeks to arrive as I think he must only make them when he gets an order in.

Lovely looking bike that. How did you find fitting the cover to the base of your seat? I think I would cock that up royally!

It would be nicer if it didn't say 'Hornet' on it. I've never understood the need to keep repeating what kind of bike something is, it already says it on the side.

Looks great - you've done a good job Thumbs Up

Before your final stretch of the cover, are you going to warm it up a bit with a hair dryer or something similar? Only questioning as it's pretty cold at the moment and it may expand slightly in the summer when it gets warmer and end up looking like it's "sagging" a bit?

Remove the original and take your time. Don't use a million and one staples straight off as you will probably need to remove them and replace as the fitting starts to take shape. Once its nearly right you can then put loads in. ( As I said I still need to make a few adjustments.)

I did have a fair idea to start with though due to me being a photographer and spending many hours years ago stretching canvass prints onto frames.

You could I suppose chuck a few quid at a local upholsterer who would no doubt fit it quicker than you could make a cup of tea in.

This thought has occurred to me. Or wait for the one and only hot day of the year. Wink

Thanks. Very Happy Very Happy

Even though it's an oldish bike I wash and tinker with it regularly.

I also have quite a nice car but I really cannot remember the last time I washed that.! Rolling Eyes

A bike somehow seems more personal and part of you than a car, you hear and feel every noise from it and the road, sense any little feedback it tells you in a way you are detached from in a car. - Or am I just being 'sad'.? Shocked Laughing

No, not sad. You say it as it is and how it should be. I'm exactly the same.
