I've just fitted some heated grips to my TA but even cut-down to their smallest they still overhang the end of the bars by about 1/2 inch.

I removed the built-in bar weights as I'd planned to fit external weights to cover the open-end of the grips but the end weights will not reach.

The left-hand weight will just about fit but no-way on the throttle-side as it will bind.

Because the TA is a v-twin it is very buzzy in the hand so needs the weights and there's a bleedin'-great hole in the ends that needs capping.

Any ideas?

Can you not move the switchgear inwards a bit? Spacers would work.

Thanks guys.

Itchy, there is no room to move further inwards.

Andi, thanks. I will try J&S today to see if they have anything standard but I may-well take you up on that. Thumbs Up

Edit: Been over to J&S and got some nice heavy stainless ends that have quite a long shank.

Will wait until tomorrow to hear from Oxford but I reckon I can cut-off the soft rubber overhang as I think the heating element is based on wires wrapped around the plastic-core-tube. If that is the case I should be okay.

Seems to me there is a market for end-bars that contain a bearing so can rotate with the throttle-grip. Thinking

Bloody handlebars are so buzzy now!

Well, the good news is that I received a reply from Oxford this morning confirming that I can cut the grips down to 112mm (basically to the plastic liner) without damaging them so will take a look at this today and, hopefully, have a workable solution. Smile
