Nearly swiped off my bike on the way home from work!

Travelling towards Peterborough on the A605 around 2210 hours. I come up to a roundabout following the flow of traffic (HGV's ahead slowing us down) to go straight ahead.

I proceeded to exit the roundabout when all of a sudden, what can only be described to the best of my knowledge, a c*nt, in a blue Skoda taxi, overtakes me violently and swerves right into my lane and dangerously cuts me up leaving about 30cm from my front tyre!

..because the traffic was moving quite slowly, I was pretty enraged as he could have swiped me straight off! So, I ride a long side him (after revving the bollucks off my engine) and stupidly tried to get his attention by opening my visor and shouting "OIII!!!! YOU FUCKING C*NT!!"

But all I saw was this middle aged, grey haired English (well, white anyway) prick driving as if nothing happened, with this face:

https://i48.tinypic.com/2wlzt78.png

The subsequent sequence of events included overtaking each other dangerously in the pitch black and towards oncoming traffic.

I lost him in the end, otherwise I would have finally booted his wing mirror in! But I decided not to earlier as he drove like an absolute arse. Weaving in and out of traffic, overtaking dangerously and illegally.

Now, I know you will say "just pull over and let him pass", well, I couldn't when you see red because of this twat's ignorance!

RANT OVER!

Seeing red is my weakness too. Always regret it afterwards but just can't help it at the time. It doesn't happen often but when someone does do something spectacularly dangerous and inconsiderate on purpose, my anger rises instantaneously, and there is no chance for me to remember my promise to myself not to react.

Think I'm going to fine myself £5 to charity if I lose my temper on the bike again.

For the fuckers who try to carry on as if nothing had happened after nearly killing you, kicking a couple of dents in the bodywork is the only thing that usually brings my blood pressure down. I don't do it often. But very occasionally it's unavoidable.

About a year ago I completely lost my marbles after some minicab driving tosser not only cut me up but proceeded to shout abuse at me for the crime of just being on the road. I caught up with him in the heavy traffic, leaned in through his open window, removed his glasses and crushed them under my boot, saying 'not much point you wearing these, is there?' as I rode off with the hysterical screaming of said twat in my ears Laughing

I wasn't worried about him getting my reg. no. either Laughing

Taxi drivers, in my experience, are utter, utter cunts. Narrowly beaten only by bus drivers, and beating truck drivers by just a smidgeon. IN fact, everyone driving anything with four wheels, on the whole, is a lot of an arse. I occasionally have my opinion on this altered slightly, cars moving when I'm filtering, or making room for me to overtake, but it's very rare. As ever, I'm of the opinion that they're all out to kill me and should be treated with utter contempt. And if you think it's bad on a bike, try cycling on British roads. You might as well have a target painted on you...

On the whole, all things considered, I don't have a great deal of trouble with taxi drivers. Mini cab / private hire drivers however ......... Evil or Very Mad

Because it does not conform to the usual ethnic stereoptype of the bad mini-cab driver and as such was worth mentioning?

it is not a stereotype, rather quite factual

It's amazing how quickly an apology can diffuse a situation - if someone cuts me up and apologises I'll generally just accept it and continue on my way - on the flip side, if I do something wrong [a rare occurrence of course...] I'll always apologise too.

But... it seems that when other people tend to do something wrong (accidentally or belligerently) they'll then call you a wanker for daring to beep at them - for me this is when the red-mist descends in disproportionately large measures.

Get his cab licence number and report him to the licencing authority. Sensible thing to do.

North Circular back in the mid nineties, mid day, heavy traffic my father was filtering through to a point where he couldn't get through a gap. Cue a black taxi making a point of pushing into the back corner of his pannier. In stationery traffic.
Oh, and shouting "Get that farrking bike outta my farrrking way".
Guess he didn't like couriers.

I'd like to say that my old man was a calm and authoritative figure who was able to reason with the misguided taxi driver and calm the situation. Unfortunately for the taxi driver my father turned into one scary bastard when his fuse was well lit. Cue taxi driver being pulled by his throat out of the side window of the taxi amid much screaming "Cabbies help me!!!"
He didn't manage to pull the fat bastard out of the cab, but did get the keys and pass on some threats of violent death.

Always tempting isn't it.

Oh per-lease... this is a normal day in London with bike vs minicabs (who are all out to kill bikers).

My personal favourite was when I was hit head on by some idiot who decided to drive on the wrong side of the road. Insurance company naturally found 100% fault with him, particularly as there was a very strong independent witness who couldn't believe what this t@sser had done.

Anyhow, as I was dusting myself off and getting up, the old bastard walked over to me and said "you were going too fast."

Just had Audicock turn across me on a roundabout from the left lane, without indicating. With my stellar obs, I'd expected it and was waiting "patiently", although my throttle unfortunately jammed wide open. Angelic

The Plodvan following him through the roundabout drew my attention to the stuck throttle with a Tut Tut though, so I guess I need to work on those obs a bit more. Whistle

I didn't notice what the car make was, I was just aware it was a big cockmobile, that cut me up Wednesday evening on my way home from work as I was turning right on a large, 3 laned roundabout. Regardless, I was on the horn as I stood the bike up to brake. Cunt didn't even take his phone away from his ear. I was as indignant as I've ever been. I came in and put my angry trousers on and seethed for the rest of the evening...

If we put Audicock to one side Taxi's are the most don't give a shit, cut you up wanker's on the road at least in Birmingham.

I'm in a van and have been cut up or pulled out on by private hire taxi's more so than any other road user's on a typical week.

Did have Audicock try to force me to stop and let im go in front in a 2lane's into one situation in heavy traffic last week though. I was slightly behind a BMW that was in the RHS lane, so he gets right of way as you do, but Audicock tries sticking to his bumper and forcing me to stop and let him into the LHS lane in front of me.

Normally in the works van and on my way home from a job, I'm in no rush and would let anyone out if i thought it was safe to do so. But this time i just smiled and carried on, and Audicock got less than 2" away from having 3.5t of van force him off the road into the oncoming lane, before blasting horn and swerving into the on-coming lane. I went home with a big smile that night, but then thought what if i've turned into proper white van man, so wasn't so smug after that. Laughing

Normally have a problem with BMW drivers, but Taxis are getting to the top of my list pretty fast. We have one road that leads from town to join the motorway, 2 lane 30 mph with 2 bends..
Will admit, if the road is clear I will MotoGP style them as there tight corners. Other week, Taxi to my left, im on the right comming to the bend, its 7am sunday morning going to work, no other cars are about, and unless he was deaf he knew i was there by his side, slow down a tad to go into the right hand bend, then all of a sudden he drifts into my lane without warning, do the normal tap the horn, and he still didnt notice me & comes more into my lane. Que meetin at the end of the road with red lights i had a proper rant banging on his window, with a cop van to my left (splits to 3 lane road) & he still didnt give a toss Confused I see red really easy, but I dont oftern act upon it.. That day I did, was either harsh braking, or billboards for me. Thumbs Down I need one of them GPpro cams I think!

One I know is a cunt for it, he drives like he's on auto-pilot.

While I was banned he almost 'took me out' while I was using the pushbike, so when I next saw him sat outside the bank in his car I casually mentioned that next time il remove it for him - since he clearly doesn't need it. He apologised and scuttled off.
He knows my old man fairly well, I have to admit I did expect something mentioned Rolling Eyes Laughing but nothing has been.

i dont tend to get that angry when pulled out on. I just bang the bike against the limiter to signal my presence and slight annoyance. Never actually had words with any of them or damaged there cars.

The ones that wind me up the most are the ones that pull out on you, realise they pulled out on you but just carry on as if it never happened, without so much as a sorry. Generally it's women in cars too big for them that do this

Coming around a motorway roundabout in the left lane, some twat in a micra starts creeping out on me, then drops the clutch and pulls straight across when im 10m from him.

Cue harsh braking, a mini wobble and an "erp erp erp" from the front wheel as I bounce along the shitty road surface. I stopped about a foot before his rear quarter panel.

Thing is the guy carried on, but at like 5 mph, so he must of realised he fucked up. Idiot. Heart was racing for a while after that.

Only once I have removed a wingmirror in anger, I felt better for all of 2 minutes but these days I am a lot more calm, think it's because it happens so much more often now that it's pointless getting wound up.
