I have a superbyke cruzer 50cc (A little chinese chopper) and I'm turning 17 soon and can't afford to buy a 125cc but I'd like a bit more power because this just isn't enough. I don't want to de-restrict it I was wondering how easy it would be to change it out for a 125cc engine and what I'd have to do to other parts such as changing the sprockets etc...

I have attached a picture of the bike in case it helps.

I've not modified the bike in any way and neither have any of the previous owners.

If that's cub-style engine, then it should be relatively easy to swap engines.
Of course, you'll need to swap the carb, any airbox, exhaust and quite likely need to swap the electrics.

Cheapest way to get all those is buying a complete bike and selling off what's left.

Or, you could just sell your and buy a 125cc bike.

What was going through OP's mind when he set eyes on the bike.

Mr. Green Thumbs Up

Your best of selling it and getting a 125.

So you all think it would be better to attempt to sell it and buy a new bike? Can anyone recommend a good reliable commuter style 125cc that is relatively cheap?

ybr125, CG125, En125, XR125, City fly 125, cbr125, vara 125. Among the many.

Stick to a Japanese bike and you will be better off.

Pretty much any Japanese 125 2 or 4 stroke in ok nick should be fine.
So rather than limit yourself to specific models, keep an eye out for good deals locally and buy on value and condition.

As has been said look for a nice Japanese 125 and trade that in. As for those of you taking the wee out of the lad's ride, at 16 I would have loved that!

Well, apparantly god hates fags Thinking ... the west-borough baptist church thingy obviously watched southpark.

And... I was having a look on the pitbike forum and people are selling engines complete with electrics and everything else for not too silly prices (ie couple of hundred quid), so could still be worth considering.

If I was for some reason stuck on that style of bike, I'd be tempted to stick to the lighter one you have; the bigger ones may have better brakes to handle the speed, but also got a lot more weight.

Sell it and buy a 125. If you're really tight on cash then there are good chinese 125s out there, but you have to be careful. Give it a month and I might have the trusty RXS100 in my sig up for sale, now those are great learner bikes on a budget Thumbs Up
