Broken engine bracket, any ideas anyone?

My boyfriend recently binned his bandit 600 (1998 model) and has cracked the engine mount on the bottom of the engine. He has actually cracked the bit where the bolt screws into the alloy engine casing. Any ideas on repairing this? Would it be wise to weld it? Rolling Eyes

don,t have a clue what it looks like but if it does bolt in too the casing its self and the thread is damaged badly is would be near imposable to weald it and re-tap it.
