Soo today I brought home my cg and promptly got to work, first up arriate fork gaiters. Stripped front end down and noticed I could spit more grease than was in the speedo gear, that was fixed with a blob of grease and then onto the forks, I thought while there out I would change the fork oil, 2.6 fl ounces according to Haynes, both legs were less than that with one being a dark grey and thick fluid and the other being a red colour and like piss, so gaiters done.
That out of the way I checked front brake didn't like them so out they came and I will order new ones tomorrow, valves were checked and seem fine, next up regrease swing arm and check rear wheel and service rear brakes oh and chain and sprocket will need checking, that along with a clean and polish and I should be good for my commute.
Tyres are some Vee rubber jobs, brand new so I will see how these go, prolly fine for a gentle pace, the cg sounds a fair bit different than my YBR but I got it for a good price with a full service history and all receipts and mot certs from Hunts Motorcycles, I will tweak the idle as I think its a tad slow and oil was asda semi synth 10w40.
The bike is a 2007 with 10800 miles and the only rust I could find was on chain guard bolts and fork axle nut which cleaned up with wire wool the others I will change for stainless as I go along, now compared to my brothers new CBF125 he had this cg is shit loads better build quality, Honda must be crazy to have stopped these.
One thing, the friggin spark plug does not fit any of my plug socket's, I have a 10 mm and a 5/16 and non fit?, any one know what size it is.
Any way just something to read on a Sunday night.

19mm long reach socket and a ratchet works for me on my Old CG. Worth a shot if you're in a bind.

On mine it's a 12mm one, but mines an 1990, not sure if it'd be the same.
