What is the current MOT price for a bike.

Also why is it every time i go to get a MOT I make sure all the indicators , lights horn etc. is working then something buggers up from taking the corner to the MOT center !!!

Last year i tooted my horn on arrival but stopped working when getting testing and before that the spring in my back brake switch went on arrival.

grats.

My old mans been going to the same place that I go for years, he's never had a bad word to say against them hence why I now go there. Due to the price and speed they get it done, and the fact they don't try bullshitting you into stuff saying things like 'your combine-joint-mounting flaps are buggered, there gonna be £450 to replace' means that I'll sing their praises as long as I can (until they roger me or I move away)

I think the officially set price is £29.65 off the top of my head.

£29.65 official price. Beware of anywhere significantly cheaper as they might be keener to fail it.

28-30 is normal for London.

Anyway your bike can't be that well if things stop working though a corner.

i pay £31 for all my m.o.t's. But it's pretty much a garaunteed pass regardless of faults Laughing

Took him one last week with 2 below legal tyres and a fork seal that was very badly leaking. He just said "i know you'll fix it wont you" and handed me the pass sheet Laughing

I want to know my bike is spot on.

Dodgy test centres should be reported.

If you need some min wage mechanic to tell you your bike is ok, you shouldn't be on the road.

Don't testers need to be licensed?

If they pass a bike / car which is not fit for the road then they should lose their job. I want to know my bike / car is safe for me and others.

i know all my bikes inside out, i dont need someone with 'training' to tell me if it's safe to ride or not. For me a part of biking is knowing everything about my bike and being able to maintain it and fix it myself, it's half the fun.

£29 from my regular garage. They know my face there too, cos I took my previous bike there (and bought my current bike from another branch of the same garage)
