Simple question really, does changing the sprocket size count as a modification I should tell the insurance company about? They are consumables, and after a while are unlikely to be stock anyway? (That is tell in theory at least... Confused )

Thanks.

I would say tell them, if the inevitable happens and you have an accident and you didn't declare it then the insurance company may not pay out, then again they may not notice thats its an after market part.

Just be safe than sorry and tell them Smile

I can't see them counting the teeth on your sprockets in the event of a crash Laughing

Your insurance contract will say that they must be notified of every change. Its upto you but I've told the insurance co about the changes on mine so they cant moan about them later.

Well I did see a Men&Motors pgm about police bikers investigating a crash, and they looked all over for the bikes headlamp filament, coz some witnesses said they didn't think he had his lights on !! (Some said he did).

BTW it looked like some cozy dunt in a Transit with a trailer had chanced turning right into a show field, across his (main road) path.

Dunno what happened in the end, but dontcha just love witnesses who only confuse the situation !! So, on balance I would tell about the sprocket, in case some dogooder says 'he was absolutely caning it' when they confuse you going past at a normal pace with bouncing it off the rev-limiter!!!

Cheers
Rob
