I was riding my bike the other day (MTX125R) and it cut out and wouldn't start again. Checked the spark plug, not sparking but giving low charge. Think the CDI is working ok cos power getting through. Alternator ok. So think it's the ignition coil (replaced ht lead and cap). Does anyone else agree it might be the ignition coil? Seems like no power is going through it, whereas there is 70+ volts everywhere when you kick it over. Where can I get a new coil?

I've topped up the battery fluid and given it a good charge. There doesn't seem to be any power going from the cdi to the coil, power is goin to the cdi but nothing through the coil Confused

well it power is getting to the coil, but nothing is coming out at the plug, then its either the CDI or the coil. replace the coil, even if the chance of it fixing the problem is slim its better to eliminate the possibility of it being the coil before you have the CDI looked at

Replaced the coil, same problem. Driving me mad, if I had the money I'd take it to a garage

I'm sure it's something simple, like a loose earth connection somewhere
