OFFICIAL DATE IS 9TH-11TH AUGUST. OFFICIAL VENUE IS THE PLOUGH PUB, PE7 3DR

Deposit has been paid and the venue is booked, cost is £5 per tent per night. They have a fire pit to keep us toasty, not sure if they supply the fire wood for this though??

The weather can't be predicted, so in the event of it being shit having a few pitch-up gazebos will make all the difference and saved the day at last years shindig. So if anybody has any and can bring them, let us know and do so, otherwise we might have to try to arrange something beforehand.

Oh and bring your own fold up chair so you have somewhere to sit.

UPON ARRIVAL AT THE SITE

Each person will need to go into the pub upon arrival and will pay up for the amount of nights they are camping and also will pay for the amount of breakfasts required. This is to help them out so they can arrange the food in plenty of time.

Breakfast is £5 per head for full english with unlimited tea/coffee.

Whilst I'm sure I'd get mad karma for going on the weekend of my wedding, I think I'll choose the first option Mr. Green

Book it and they will come.

If Lower Lode don't require any money upfront just book it and then that's the date. If people can make it then they will go, if they can't then tough, you'll never please everyone.

If you haven't paid anything upfront then there's no chance of losing a deposit.

Can't do the above dates, so I'm out as well. I'll keep an eye if the dates go back to 9-11.

But if its less than 25 then some kind of cost will incur, and I'm sure a deposit will be required even if the camping itself is free, I guess on a returnable deposit basis - I know I wouldn't turn book out a weekend turning down other business on some randomers promise via email, so don't see why they would be willing to do so without some collateral.

I will find out exactly what costs there will be once I have a feel for which dates we want.

Any dates for me, but are they clear about what hijinks are likely to ensue?

I ask because at heart I'm actually a rather considerate chap[*] and if I was one of their paying guests on a "comfortable relaxed stay" I might not be best chuffed about a 3am re-enactment of Apocalypse Now in the back garden. Confused

Free camping is swell. Being evicted on Saturday morning, not so awesome.

[*] And a sensitive, generous lover.

Post Scriptum: I personally have no problems with keeping it down with a mug of cocoa and would likely side with The Man if shit get real. Cool

Hmmm I had sworn I had read they were cool with all of that but looking back through the other thread I don;t see such confirmations now. I've just fired off another email asking about deposits/prices if less than 25 people for the night and if respectful/responsible camp fires are allowed.

How about an 'any date' option on the poll?

I did consider it but its just further fannying about, pick a date and stick with it, or rather if people say "any date" I will count it as +1 to each option, so the majority will still win.

8am mortar fire at last years BBQ1.0. That's what woke me up. Alpha-fucking-9 and his exploding bean cans.

If anything these polls prove that just setting a date is better. Democracy doesn't work.

Won't be at this one then. Running our own rally up here at the end of August and it's way too south for me.

If you're ever having a BCF BBQ that isn't within 150 miles of the south coast, give me a shout!
