I thought my bike might of had a problem with the steering damper / bearing or whatever you call it as it felt like it pulled to the right at certain places.

But since getting a new set of tyres I dont feel it anymore.

Could it of just been my style of riding to the previous owners, or bad wear in the tyres?

Back wheel alignment might have not been equal, my bike pulled to the left for a while because of that. Embarassed

Probably don't feel it after changing the tyre because it lines up properly now.

wheel alignment sounds likely, as said if the tyres been changed the wheel will have been re-aligned too

Not true, You don't move the adjusters to take the back wheel off so the wheel will be in the exact same position

surely that depends on the place fitting them? guy I go to checked the alignment on mine while putting the wheel back on, plus some bikes you have no choice but to re-align it when you take the wheel off, on the city fly it had aligners that were on the axle and are rotated for adjusting the chain, take the wheel off and they have to come off too

WELL when ever the lads change my tyres not only do they balance the wheel they check the alignment of the wheels and the chain tension . In fact when ever the bike goes in they usually tell me what else ought to be checked and what is wrong or going wrong. with a bike thats 27 years old its good to have someone else keeping an eye on things, specially as I am technically way down the street when it comes to bikes
