Hi,
I'm new to this forum and wanted some help with a CG125 ('85 Brazil model). It's been stood for about 4 years. Engine sorted and starts okay. Problem I have is with the electrics.

Started with rear light and indicators flashing in unison (indicators very dim). Tried different mini flash unit, worked okay but no rear light or front light (worked before). Also no indicator lights or main beam lights on dash (worked before). Plugged old unit back and indicators bright and okay but no rear light or front (checked bulbs are okay).
FYI I think the indicators are off another bike as only one lead (no earth) from them.

Second issue I have is no neutral light on dash (didn't come on even before problem with indicators). I checked and all dash bulbs are okay.

I know everything worked before it was stood, I just want to get it an MOT as a friend is interested in using it to learn on before taking their test. I would appreciate any help and advice on these problems.

Thanks in anticipation, MAP

neutral light is not needed for MOT but check the connectors at the dash and the gearbox rust and erosion can make a high restance on the connectors and a electrical connection will not be made, just clean the connector with some sandpaper and if the crimp is loose on the connector squezze it tighter with a pair of pliers l get it all the time on my vfr

Just a few questions.

Does the horn work?
When main beam indicator on dash didn't come on was the speedo light on the dash on?
Is there a good connection to the frame from battery?
Do the brake lights work?

I think rear light and indicators may have been dull in first case due to low battery? when you swapped flasher units back only indicators were on so less load on the battery and therefore brighter.

There is a connector that the rear light branches out from (brown wire[i think] ) and a wire that feeds horn and a connector where front light branchs out of (green wire[i think]) It could be worth checking the connectors to make sure there is a good contact.
Also check the sidelight bulb, i had a problem where the sidelight bulb was shorting out stopping the headlight/tail lights from working.

Hope that is of some help.

Thanks for your input.
Horn works. Brake light works. No lights on dash at all.
How do I check connection between battery and frame?

Checked sidelight bulb and it's okay.

The headlight/tail light doesn't have their own fuse does it?

Any suggestions welcome (picture me banging head on brick wall).

Thanks in anticipation.

Now have Haynes manual with the circuit diagram.
Appears all the green wires should be tied down to earth (the frame). However, looking at the loom it looks like other colours have been patched in Crying or Very sad

Still looking for any suggestions where to start looking into this. Ta.

There is only one fuse.
I will have another think and see if I can make any more suggestions.
