I'm looking to buy an RS125 for commuting and general fun once i've done the CBT.
I've read that they need servicing every 3000 miles and the commute to work is going to be around 5000 a year alone. How cheep are they to run and could i get away with a service once a year?
I've read about only using good quality oil, not thrashing them from cold ect. and plan to look after it so hopefully no need for expensive engine rebuilds
Thanks for any replys to my first post! |

RS's are know for seizing if they are not given regular piston changes. They need a new piston every 6,000miles (i think).
The cost of servicing a RS depends on how good you are with the spanners. They need top end strips alot, but most of the cost of that will be in labour. A new piston and bits will be under £100. They need £10 of oil every ~500miles.
The engines are demanding, but they are producing 260BHP per litre....... ____________________ "because one stroke isnt enough and four strokes waste two" |
