Hey,
I sadly missed out on getting my full license before Jan 2013, as i failed putting my foot down on the U turn for mod1. (21) Evil or Very Mad put me right off

But how can i get insured on my own bike to take the test if i don't have a license yet? I have a 650 i could restricted for A2. Are there special insurance companies that insure for tests? I tried to look but cant find anything.

Im thinking now i may just book a course again now to get A2 and once i can take DAS il do that one my self, but still dont understand how i can get insurance when i do that.

cant believe £600 for 4days!!

thanks for your help

Even then how would you get to the tests? Unless you rode pillion with a mate insured on it too.

Or a van or instructor.

Insure the bike telling them that you have a provisional licence. Simples.

Get a friend to ride the bike to the test centre for you (because you can't ride the bike without instructor/examiner supervision) and then take the test on the bike. If all goes well, you get to ride home with your friend riding pillion! Very Happy

Then it's up to you whether you wish to inform your insurance company that you now have a full licence. Some will charge greatly for the liberty. I told my company, they simply made a note of it on my insurance. Didn't cost me a penny thankfully!

Many/most of them won't touch you though, regardless of whether they understand the legalities or not.

So we're looking for a list of the insurers who will take your money, to save OP a whole lot of phoning around.

I was under the assumption that most places would touch you. The same as insuring a 125 on a provisional licence. My bad!
