I was looking at the video of G doing kneedown at Stockley and it didn't look like his bike was leaned over much further than mine - just that his position on the bike was different.

Judging by this pic, could I get my knee down or am I miles away?

Ever tried hanign off mate? Makes KD mucho easier. It's possible on practically any bike.

I know but with the bike at that angle would I be able to GMKD if I did hang off the bike?

If I can do it then I'm sure you could I'm small and on a huge bike, hang off like a erm... something that hangs off a lot!

My chicken strip totally went on the right hand side, yet I still had quite a bit of lean left before I actually got my knee down! Shocked

One problem I have is that I am really inflexible.

I can't...how can I put it... spread my legs very wide (oo-err). When I was test riding the Moto Guzzi the other day I was in pain because my legs didn't fit round the tank.

In pictures of people GTKD it always looks like they have their legs spread.

You do need to be able to spread 'em a bit. It all depends on the rider and the bike. Some bikes can be practically upright, some need to be right over. The smaller the bike the easier it is got GYKD with the bike more vertical.

The first few times to do it, it really does hurt and you get off the bike with jelly legs as it stretches your muscls that much! After a few days of doing it your legs soon get used to the position and it makes the whole thing really easy.

Hang off like a bitch and I would say your knee would go down in that picture.

o damn i really want to see that pic...Confused

damn u mojo your site never works Smile

na shouldnt be that hard to plonk your knee down. ive pretty much got all the chicken strips off on both sides now and i dont really try. just cranking the bike over feels good, never got knee down...

I guess you just have to hang off, and lower the bike, and consequently knee down towards terra firma. . .

One thing to bear in mind is the more you hang off, the faster you have to go to get the same lean angle.

I've noticed a few times when riding with people that there pegs have looked close to being down when in reality they are actually a long way from touching down!

Have you read YamsR6's article about getting your knee down in Submissions and Comments? Might have some advice in that for you.

My right leg goes like jelly if I keep doing KD. It's something to do with lazy-itus and unfit-bastiditus. Sometimes if I keep going around and around I get off the bike and can't walk LOL Laughing

Me needs to get fit Smile

Yeh thats like me yams. I do about 2 laps of an island and I get off the bike feeling like jelly.

Obviously on twisties you are moving about the bike alot more so its less focused on just one leg! Islands tire me out more.

The bits of tyre at the edges that you haven't used.

As in 'too chicken to lean it over any further'.
