yes and no

i personally use it to blank out wind noise and well i ride a 125cc at high revs they sound a bit shitty and loud, and if i ever have to do a long distance ride im not bored to some extent.

but im sure there are people who know the reasons why it isnt allowed for some reason or other (its gonna be somthing to do with oinkers thats for sure

Go for these. Thumbs Up
I bought some from the same seller to replace the CX200 I accidentally trod on. Doh!
They are great value but the in-line volume control doesn't actually adjust the loudness, its a 'volume attenuator', whatever the fook that means.

Cheers, will definately look into those. Love Sennheiser stuff Thumbs Up
Needs to have a nice long cable on them, as they need to fit into my Bike mounted sat nav when I use it.
1.1m would definitely reach

Only use one ear though, not being to hear traffic noise freaks me out a bit

It's kinda hard putting my helmet on without ripping the headphones out, but I don't generally listen to music as I like listening to my own bike believe it or not! And incase of traffic around me, you're not guna hear a horn with headphones in.

But yeah if you do use headphones, avoid Drum and Bass at all costs!

Yes, often.

Though the past week I haven't quite as much for two reasons, 1) I'm getting bored of the music I'm not already bored of yet (I download 10-20 songs at a time and play them until I can't stand them anymore and then download another 10) and 2) I find myself less bothered to go through putting the headphones on/taking them off before and after my, mostly short, rides.

Never had a problem that has been due to listening while riding yet.

Tried it once or twice out of curiosity, but prefer not to have the distraction tbh

Depends on the length of the ride to be honest, used to listen to music all the time. However ended up kind of nodding when listening to certain songs.

Recently I've done a special playlists depending on the mood, which actually works for riding.

Always have the radio on during my commute - otherwise I get too bored and 'zone out'. News/traffic reports are always useful too as well as the music. Or sometimes I catch up with the odd podcast. Thumbs Up

I never do it - even though I listen most of the time in the car. Radio 4 or just some CDR or whatever. Would prefer Radio Bloke (i.e. 5), but never seem to able to get it here. Anyway, I don't have one of those iPods so I couldn't if I wanted to.

Not often. I find it a distraction. And never off road, where I must focus

I do listen to music sometimes, but it depends mostly on the type of riding I'm doing.

When riding on motorways, or doing a longer journey I've got no problem with it. It's much better than listening to the wind noise anyway. Obviously I set the volume so I can still hear stuff happening around me.

But once I'm at my destination and the fun riding begins, I usually turn it off, as it can be a bit distracting.

I do occasionally, on motorways I find it helps but in town I'm not so sure. Could just be that my current commuting bike doesn't have mirrors though.

I have the previous model of these: Skullcandy earbuds, I keep threatening to buy myself some Sennheisers but they've been working fine for three years now Smile

You can get the diy moulded earplug kits and mould the earpiece into the goo. You then have custom earplugs with built in headphones - much less likely to get pulled out when you put the helmet on.
I haven't tried it, but have seen a few instructables or whatever they're called. Looks like a good idea, but one of those things I keep thinking I'll get around to someday (never).

I have a SENA SMH-10 which I connect to my phone for sat-nav and music.
Works great, and just one tap and I'm talking to my pillion and then another tap and I'm back to music!

Only ever bother for 20+ mile trips though.

I use headphones in my phone and use that as an mp3 player, however it pauses under heavy acceleration, fucking annoying

I use headphones on the motorway, but that's about it. Keep the volume down as well and its a bit like using earplugs but with a bit extra.

Put my iPod on in my pocket, sometimes my phone. It stops the music when I get a phone call, so I can answer it while I'm riding. Music makes any ride much better. Just takes the edge off the loudness of the bike, but you can still hear it in the background.
