CG125 front end

Hi all,
I have a 1993 CG-125 with a seized engine and am looking at purchasing a 2001 CG-125 with knackered front spokes. Will the front wheel and brake unit from the 1993 bike fit the 2001 bike to make it good?

I'm hoping to use the 1993 as spares for the 2001 bike. Are there any issues anyone knows about? The major difference seems to be the upgrade to the CDI engine and its associated electric start.

If the front end isn’t salvageable will the newer CDI engine fit into the frame on my 1993 CG-125? I can’t seem to find technical information on the internet although there is a haynes manual that covers 1976 - 2007 so I am hoping the 1993 and 2001 should be compatible as far as parts go.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes the front wheel will fit

Obviously if the wheel is disc brake it won't fit.
The engines all have the same mountings just slightly different looms it's the model you wanna check

I think it is a drum brake so should fit fine. The 1993 is a BR-K and the 2001 is a W in terms of model. If the wheel will fit that will do me! Many thanks.
