Just thought I'd put it on here if anybody else wants to do it and is unsure of what needs doing.

So I bought a used Hagon, a year old or so I think to replace my saggy arsed 18 year old stock shock from my ZZR600E3.

With some might and the use of 2 ratchets I managed to crack the top bolt out. 17mm socket require for the bolt on the left hand side then a 19mm required for the nut on the right hand side.

Took a picture of me conquering that one.

But that was a silly mistake, I should have left it in the hole loose so I could undo the bolts at the bottom of the shock. I didn't picture it but at the bottom, you undo the the bolt for the dog bones and also the bolt which attaches the shock to the rocker arm (is it called that?) and the shock just falls out, once you bring out the loose bolt from the top again.

State of my old one, it's much heavier than the Hagon too, so accidental weight saving feature too! Leaving this hole in the bike

Then installation was the opposite of this and very simple. If I'd have chocked the rear wheel it would have made the job 1 second faster, but my mate just lifted the back wheel to make the bolts line up nicely.

And I know I really need to get that cleaned but I'm too lazy at the moment.

Hope this might be useful to somebody in the future.

Oh and PS I'm a postgrad chem student with a £50 toolbox. I'm not a skilled mechanic for sure. Just give it a go Thumbs Up

Should have greased the linkages and bearings while you were at it.
