I have recently moved to Sydney, and yesterday I bought my new machine. A shiny yellow ZX6-R with less than 14,000 miles on the clock. Happy days eh, anyway the question is, is there anybody on here in Sydney who fancies a ride out sometime? I will be joining the Australian bike forums but would not mind a ride out with another English person. On another note, hope the weather is good there as we had the coldest day in 6 months the other day, 21 degrees Laughing Twisted Evil
Cheers all

I was going to say I wish I was in Sydney, but then thought better of it.

That's a pretty good price. Mine was 2k and is a nail, but it's a G model, not an F.
I'm down for that. Have you ridden there before? It's awesome. You need to check out galston gorge too.

Watch out for 'roos, the fucking things are imbeciles. I've hit a few in cars, I can't imagine what they would do to a bike.

When I left in the morning it was only 11 c. Had to use the hand grip warmers. Weather for eskimos ek se

Can say the same thing about the bushcats here. Just wander on to the road without looking. At least the baboons have the sense to run. We also have the cattle, goats, dogs, little pekkies, etc. And after dark, kudu. A kudu will really fark up your day

Dunno how big a Kudu is, but even hitting an Eastern Grey (or having the bastard look at you, decide you aren't getting past, then slamming into you - this happened to me) can leave you needing new panels on the car at best. Can actually write the car off sometimes.

kudus can go up to 300 kg and can be as high as a man at their shoulders. one hell of a lot of biltong.

this is a kudu.

the 4 legged thing hanging, not the bushcats standing next to it. Mr. Green

Interesting stuff guys, look forward to seeing these animals when I have a chance to travel.. On another note, the bracket for the rear suspension reservoir has snapped and I have tried repairing it 3 times now to no avail, lasted today then heard a massive bang on my way home this afternoon and found it hanging next to the wheel having taken a big chip out of the rim, good eh! Would anyone know where I might get one? Its a 95 model, searched ebay and could not find one. Perhaps some kind soul in the UK might have one I could purchase off them Thumbs Up Thumbs Up
Thanks guys

How are you all moving to Sydney? Let me come over. Civil marriage. I'll pay you £1,000. We'll make it work for a year or so then just say we grew apart. I guess then I'll just have to stay over there....

What are the roads like over there? Long and straight like America? I have heard that it gets so hot that the tarmac starts "sweating" which makes the roads very greasy.

Yeah, that thing would make a mess of a car. I assume it's good eating though?

Much the same as over here. There aren't so many single lane rural roads, but apart from that, there can be long dull roads - the Newell Highway between Coonabarabran and Goondiwindi comes to mind - or there can be some twisty turny roads, like Moss Vale Road between Fitzroy Falls Reservoir and Nowra.

It's also been said that the Great Ocean Road in Victoria is one of the top ten drivers roads in the world, but sadly I've never driven it yet.

Sometimes it does get very hot, but the only time I've ever seen tarmac sweat like that is when it's brand new road and even that was quite a while ago. Even driving around in the dry season of Far North Queensland, the road was fine on the hottest days.

great eating but no fat so you have to make stews, marinade or make biltong

Kudu biltong is my favourite

The problem with Oz is that is was just full of aussies and kiwis, but it has gotten better since it has become 1/4 saffer Mr. Green It also dilutes the Chinese in what is becoming Yellow Australia Mr. Green

I didn't realise the UK was still sending Poms over. what do they do to get in, break a window and shoplift? Laughing what is talk of brits marrying someone to get in? Just do some crime Mr. Green

The roads in and around Sydney are pretty much the same as any city in the UK, although some have much more spectacular views, especially going over the Sydney harbour bridge. That is very enjoyable on a motorbike. I have not yet experienced the roads out of the city although I will be heading to the National park with several others this weekend so I will be sure to take some photos and do a nice write up. I believe Mattsprattuk will be joining us, if there is anyone else who would like to come along please do let me know.
Cheers all Thumbs Up

just don't forget the ride report. Compulsory pics of any good ride report are any offs, meals, booze, all embarrassing moments!

and of course the bikes.

and titte spotted and captured on camera is of course a bonus Mr. Green

don't forget, dress warm. Its winter now. A chilly 23 here. I hate winter cold.

ride safe
