Hi,

I was insured with Carole Nash, who had sent me a letter to say they would auto-renew. I rang and cancelled this auto-renewal, which was all confirmed. They then proceeded to renew my insurance anyway and took the money from my account. I rang up the same day, and they cancelled the renewed policy and refunded the money with an apology.

Now, the question I have is whether this now means I have to declare I've had insurance cancelled when applying for insurance?

No, they tried to scam you and failed. Don't phrase it any other way.

I think that that could be standard industry underhand practice. Bennetts have tried it on with me on two occasions and I've heard of it happening with other companies loads of times.
