Does MCE actually send renewals or not? (22 days till it expires)

I mean they were so tight they never actually sent me paper copies of the insurance policy. Saying they'd emailed it to me (which they did). Checked on the MiB database and it was on so thought meh and left it for a year.

I'm just a wondering how I'll prove my NCB if I don't get a renewal quote, as other companies often ask for the renewal as proof of NCB.

I got a renewal e-mail, but it was quite close to the renewal date if I remember right, somewhere between 1 & 2 weeks.

My insurance policy with MCE is due to expire on the 26th of this month and I received a letter from them two weeks before that date asking if I want to renew as they said they do not auto renew policies. I got another letter saying the same thing last week and also a phone call from them asking if I want to renew.

I intend to shop around as I do every year and when my policy has expired I will ring them and ask them to send out a letter of proof of my NCB which has never been a problem for anyone in the past, including MCE.

Yeah, but it probably didn't have the NCB listed. Mine didn't. Had to ring them, several times, and email them 3 times to get it.
Very nearly breached the time limit e-Bike issued me in providing proof of NCB.

Bike insurance seems to me to be like car insurance in the 80's

Do an insurance search on Go Compare before you renew. MCE are listed on there, so you know what the renewal should be...you can pin them down then, not listen to the shite they'll try and quote over the phone.

I just asked him to send it in writing else I wouldn't consider it, he said OK.

I'll use that as proof of NCB Very Happy

Oh, yes, forgot that bit. When I got mine I went on a comparison web site and MCE came up less than what they quoted me. When I said this to them they reduced it to the lower figure.

Do they think people are that stupid Rolling Eyes

Mine still went up though, even with the reduced amount. Crying or Very sad

In my experience cancellation of any insurance policy as always resulted in them sending a letter confirming cancellation of the policy along with proof of no claims which gets sent to the next insurer, as they usually give 14 days within which to do this.

Just had my renewal notice from a different provider, 6 weeks early. Not to bad as I am getting rid of my 125 once the insurance is up. Checked what they had put in the renewal and then noticed they want to take the first payment next week, while it is still covered by my current insurance, hum that's nice of them so by the time it starts I will have paid 2 mounths payments already.

Will be phoning them tommorow to tell them no thank you as I am selling my bike, so will not need to renewal.
