Anyone else discovered that their bike's previous owners must have had real fun playing with suspension? Last night I went over the suspension settings currently on the bike Confused WTF Exclamation Things just weren't adding up...

By my findings the previous owner must have loved his bike to sit low, but also at an angle or lean. Yes the handling felt a little 'weird' sometimes but I never guessed he'd set the left fork settings completely different to the right fork Question I can imagine him part-exing the bike to the place I bought it from complaining of strange handling Laughing

Some people just fiddle way too much. Anyone else had similar experiences?

That's nothing! My other half let Motorcycle City service his R6 and not only did they do their usual routine scratching of bodywork and stripping of threads, they fiddled with his suspension to the degree that he nearly dropped the bike on the way home!
They then went on to deny ever touching the suspension settings...
...I wonder why they went out of business?!!!

Yep, you are not the only one. When I bought my YZF the yokes had been dropped down the forks by 17mm. It is quite common to see them dropped by maybe 5mm but this was excessive, that combined with Macadam 90x tyres made me wonder if this is what a bigger bike was supposed to really feel like, thankfully it wasn't supposed to feel anything like that. I have also heard stories of people collecting bikes and finding that the suspension settings had been set so that the front rebound damping was set so it was a symmetrical mirror image on the fork tops when sat on the bike. Confused Laughing

believe me i know the feeling guys. Got my bike for 1400 from a dealer who fucked me aboutf or a month getting it 'spot on'

Arrow front brake has a 2 inch bit point (whole RoM basically)
Arrow bike stalls if stopped suddenly
Arrow impossible to tension stodgy chain
Arrow timing is fucked
Arrow mirror fell ff
Arrow bar end fell off
Arrow rear suspension was set up something stupid like for an anorexic leprachaun, two up with fat mates ground the expansion chamber on overbanding at 5 mph to give you a clue
Arrow front suspension unloads from like 2 feet in length yoke to bearing to like 4 feet... literally. Its a git getting the front up unless you have about 2 pints of petrol in the tank and thats it cos of it, unless coming off speed bumps in first in which case clutch slip in first shoots the front up. So it really is just the front forks.
Arrow forks dropped completely to the silver... lo speed weave is just a pain one up, two up with a misbehaving pillion... pub carparks have never been so scary.
Arrow oh and lastly it has old man commuter dunlops on it (or i think they are) and they seem stock from when they made the bike back in 92. Just not cricket really.

Crying or Very sad

seen on my old AF1 engine were people have used metric bolts/nuts on metric fine nuts/bolts so thread is compley fucked and gasket blue beeing used all over engine cos they were too tight to by a £10 gasket set and the flywheel was put on with out a bushkey so crank was recked and timing was impossable to set.

on my old GSX400 the guy who had it before me was 6'5" apparently. The dumb fecker smacked one of the shock pistons so that it was fully extended i.e. in it's tallest position....this led to the happy and joyfull experiance of causing a very sudden and unexpected tank slapper at 70, fuggin clown...anyway a set of harley 1340 shocks sorted it... Laughing Laughing
