not sure if inspirational is the right word, but that one song that really does it for you above others, the one song you cant possibly turn off early, or leave without pressing skip back to hear it again

i have many many favourite songs, the catch of this thread is you can only leave one, and i realise this will change from time to time

reason for this thread is i fancy a bit of music broadening as im pretty bored of my choices, and just generally curious

for me its "You Know Youre Right - Nirvana"

i was really looking forward, like most people to this never before heard song, and i wasnt disappointed, everything about it was spot on, and i actually find it quite moving in some ways

unfortunately, they could have done a lot better with the so called best of album, needed to be a double album minimum, basically all i use the disk for now is listening to this one song

top stuff! Thumbs Up nowt like playing it max volume, even better when youre drunk

anyone else...

Hmm, a song I can't turn off...

Well It might have to be, Murders in the Rue Morgue by Iron Maiden... Charlotte the harlot maybe?

Umm... Are you gonna go my way? By Lenny Kravitz rocks ass...

Sunshine of your love by Cream, The white room by Cream too...

At the moment it has to be Take me to your Leader, Hammerhead or Manwatcher by Samson.

That's an easy one.

Only Women Bleed by Alice Cooper.

It's the best song ever written.
By anyone.
Ever.

Most Metallica songs for me aswell.
And some 3 Doors Down.

Most pop songs are good, but after a while they get boring for me and i delete them from the playlist again so there's only Metallica left. LOL.

I don't have one single song, that's an impossible question.

I listen to various stuff depending on mood and what I want to acheive with it Neutral Music can make you feel happy/sad and can change your mood pretty quickly usually.

I like anything from Rob Zombie to Coldplay so it really depends on how I'm feeling. Rob Zombie usually get's blasted out full when I'm pi$$ed off and Coldplay or evanesance when I want to crawl into a hole and die Razz

Red Hot Chillies is my most played album and I've yet to get bored the albums! I could have it on loop all day quite happily.

I know that doesn't answer your question, sorry! But it's impossible to pick one song out of soo many.

Travis - Why does it always rain on me is quite common tho Crying or Very sad

If your interested in more...

https://www.dreamtheater.net/disco_dreamtheater.php

I would recommend Images And Words (1992).

I would urge you all to listen to both

idlewild - american english

and

get up kids - red letter day

the idlewild song almost makes me cry every time i hear it, and at the very least puts me in a dazed manic depression (god bless ex gf memories ay), but generally a moving song.

At the moment the song that is like that for me would have to be:
Seether - Driven Under
It is just, much love, I have about 4 other songs that I put on my mp3 player at the same time, and I will just go out, and walk about, thinking about life, and getting all serious and stuff.

At the moment, it's 'Here Comes The Flood' by Peter Gabriel.

Not really sure why, I just can't stop listening to it. Not sure you could really call it 'inspirational', more 'morose' but it does it for me at the moment.

Quote:

When the night shows
the signals grow on radios
All the strange things
they come and go, as early warnings
Stranded starfish have no place to hide
still waiting for the swollen Easter tide
There's no point in direction we cannot
even choose a side.

I took the old track
the hollow shoulder, across the waters
On the tall cliffs
they were getting older, sons and daughters
The jaded underworld was riding high
Waves of steel hurled metal at the sky
and as the nail sunk in the cloud, the rain
was warm and soaked the crowd.

Lord, here comes the flood
We'll say goodbye to flesh and blood
If again the seas are silent
in any still alive
It'll be those who gave their island to survive
Drink up, dreamers, you're running dry.

When the flood calls
You have no home, you have no walls
In the thunder crash
You're a thousand minds, within a flash
Don't be afraid to cry at what you see
The actors gone, there's only you and me
And if we break before the dawn, they'll
use up what we used to be.

Lord, here comes the flood
We'll say goodbye to flesh and blood
If again the seas are silent
in any still alive
It'll be those who gave their island to survive
Drink up, dreamers, you're running dry.

I have many.

But if there was a large vote with the public i think John Lennon - Imagine would win it.
