Next month I'll have been riding for a year now.

So I rung my insurance company asking that when the policy is renewed if they could include "no claims protection", like I have on the car policy.

They said I'm not eligible until I have 4 years no claims.

Is the case?

Or is it specific to the company, and maybe I should try elsewhere?

Cheers.

Some only offer after 5. I won't protect my no claims, I just won't crash. Laughing

Protected no claims is a scam, you still have to declare you've had an accident which pushes your premiums up anyway.

Save the money, don't crash.

Protected no claims is usually only available to you once you have accrued 4 or in some cases 5 years NCB.

Premiums may go up but it would be counteracted by the NCB discount you still have because it was protected. Mine costs something like £5 a year to protect.

My second year of riding is coming and my one year ncb almost halves my insurance quote. Could be because of my having a licence for over a year too ...

If I remove 2 yr NCB and have 0 NCB my insurance is like... £5 more expensive.

Thanks all,

As long as it's standard then that's OK.

I just didn't want to miss out on it if other companies offer it.

Cheers again.

And me, on the car 1 years NCB saved me over 10% over £150

i read somewere that its a waste paying for no claims protection because you only lose 2 year sno claims when you have a accident on most insurers and the cost to pay for no claims protection would probably be more than when having a crash
