Nice little bike.
Would not be ashamed to have that in the garage.

I like some of these older Japanese bikes.
For example I like the old Honda CD 250 and the like.

That said , I have enough on my plate making my 1980 Superdream good Confused

Funnily enough, I was talking to an owner of one such machine at Seaways on saturday - his was black, covered in shite and ratted to fuckery. Leaning nonchalantly on a rather oxidised side-stand, it stood resplendent in grime and excrement. Upon sitting astride the conveyance, I was heartened to discover it weighed about as much as a small-to-medium proportioned mammal. Perhaps less.

Suffice to say I fell in love with her there and then and offered him thruppence ha'penny - cash in hand, take it or leave it that's my final offer sir, no I am afraid I can go no higher, well if you insist but I must say, such bargaining hardly befits the etiquette of a gentleman, etc etc.

However he cautioned me that the sparkplug hole was slightly nonced, and tried instead to sell me an old MZ. Normally I would've responded quite positively to such a gambit - as I am quite fond of eastern bloc stench nails - however on this occasion I did not. Instead I took a certain amount of umbrage, bid the fellow a hasty good day, and made my way into the cafeteria to partake of a hot beverage - with nary a backward glance.

Know of someone else who was looking at one to buy which was being claimed to be a Bimota.

The side panels are a bit of a give away.

All the best

Definately prone to corrosion - tank particularly in my case. I got a similar mileage '82 SB200 for not far off the price of that. Would really recommend it or similar to novices interested in 'older' bikes though.

Had a good time buggering about with it the winter before last. Certainly not one for longterm investment Laughing, but as you say to get a bit of 'classic' feeling on a budget its does the job.

Parts have been a problem with a few things due them being totally unavailable anymore used or otherwise, but i've got by bodging similar bits n' pieces onto it.

Never had it out on the road since fixing it up a bit, and probably never will as I have no where to store it long-term now so its SORN'd n stored and likely to be sold in the next year, but as a relative young'un whos been on newish bikes generally it was really fun having something a little old toy about withhttps://i44.tinypic.com/2r5reqd.jpghttps://i40.tinypic.com/rs4kd3.jpghttps://i40.tinypic.com/111qr86.jpghttps://i42.tinypic.com/jr8hkz.jpg

LC's are good, but it's a lot of wanking over what is just an RD250E with a radiator. The YR5 shown above and the first RD350's are the best looking bikes Yamaha ever made.

in your eyes and some others too. but not everyones! remember we all like different things!

if we both went into a furniture shop full of only beautiful items, do you think we would choose the identical coffee tables, sofas, lamps, carpets? exactly.

same with bikes.

Yeah they *are* pretty sweet. I have to admit to probably preferring their looks to the later ones. But I'd probably prefer to own the later ones - easier to clean innit. Mr. Green

I've always mainly been a Yamaha and Kawasaki man most of all. Have owned a Honda or two, but never spunked all over them in the same way.

I have to say though that for road bike's I'm a bit anti Yamaha these days, simply because any air or liquid cooled Yamaha 2stroke has for ages had massively inflated value's due to collectors pulling themselves silly over them, and the opinion that Yamaha make the greatest 2strokes.

I'd rather have one of the less over inflated value other brands when I'm looking for a 2stroke road bike these days.

I know that Honda 2strokes are very expensive for some models (NSR MC28) etc, but all Yamaha 2strokes seem expensive compared to the equivalents.
