Another MOT query - electric start?

My lad's bike can only currently be push started. This is due to ongoing issue with starter motor (as previous threads in this section).

Anyhow, just wondered if everything else ok would this be an MOT failure? A quick google leads me to think not as it's not down as a test item. That said there is conflicting info..

So thought I'd ask the question anyhow and if anybody could tell me the test documentation section where it might be.

If they can't start it when the bike is there... I cant remember the code but its basically aborted test-could not start bike or something like that.

To be sure just call up the people you will do it with but im pretty sure it would be an aborted test.

Certainly a fail in N.I though i suppose it depends where you get the bike tested on the mainland.

They don't need to start it as long as lights and shit work with IGN on.

They couldn't kick start my TTR and said "Well, you got it here, you can get it home"

Best off finding a nice local tester, some really do not give a piss

I got "exhaust noisy" they couldn't of tested that without starting it?

The Varadero exhaust is a weird set up, has collars that clamp and crack easy.. so wouldn't suggest removing

Shame its stuck... it isn't a fail though and if its "really" an issue, they can stick in gear and bump on their rolling brake tester.

Yeah, the fork seal is easy, so easy I've left mine for 3 months.

Fork itself, easy! ...removing the plastic on the front end if your hands are too fat to fit them + tools to undo the yokes.. hard But no, simple, especially if you have the centre stand
