Hi Just been asked to go on the JK Show to get a DNA test done on a child that is possibly mine.

Now tbh, im not sure if I really want to go onto the show, cause they will prob drag up all the past and the fact that she accused me of the R word 4 hrs after I dumped her.

But I could do with the DNA as I cant afford and on principle don't want to pay for one (She should as shes asking for money)

I work full time, have a stable (ish) home environment and such, and don't think I would be shown in the correct way on the show.

What do you guys think?

*Starts Flaming!*

Just pay for the test or pay the maintanence fees, don't lower yourself to the standards of the clientele of that show!

Don't do it, your private life is not for public viewing entertainment purposes. Sort it out privately.

Forgive my naivety... What's the "R" word?

As for going on there... It's up to you. I personally wouldn't, but then I'm not daft enough to not get into these situations.

Have you ever seen anyone on that show portrayed as something other than a complete knob?

I doubt they'll really let you on tv unless they think it's likely to be 'good tv' (i.e. fistfight, bad language, etc.). Which of course is code for the worst dross gutter tv you can imagine.

You could put them off their game by turning up clean cut, suited and booted and the very model of an middle class citizen. That's not the demographic for the show so you're unlikely to make the cut Wink

...but generally don't debase yourself by appearing.

A private paternity DNA test costs between £100 and £400 btw Figures from this site and this one as examples only. It appears a 'peace of mind one' is cheaper than one for legal purposes. Wonder which Kyle uses Thinking Wink

ends with an e and got a p and an a in it!

Im paying her now anyway and not got any issues in supporting the child if it is mine. I just cant be anywhere near her after everything she put me and my family through. She was on JK show a cpl of weeks ago getting DNA for both of the kids with the bloke she was shagging at the same time and who she is with now.

I wouldn't do it if I were you. Things like this shouldn't be solved in public, especially with the kind that watches JK.

Tell me that you're joking.

the whole purpose of the Jeremy Kyle show is to effect a morbid and depressing display of dysfunctional people who are in some kind of turmoil [...] a human form of bear baiting

They will prod you with sticks until you rage.

I think reply, be very courteous and as another has said, go suited and booted. Do not swear, shout etc etc to look like a nice guy. Jezza will shout at you, why didn't you wrap it up blah blah, you say, yes I know, WE both made the decision not to use it, very silly of us both but let's get this sorted out. Jezza will probably end up siding with you for being a nice guy ....

Or you won't get on it coz you're not a chav

Ignore all the people above.

Do it.

Wear a vest with a stella logo.

Get temporary tattoos over the face.

Don't wear any shoes. Or wash.

As a side note, I thought DNA tests were like £30 from boots.

Jeremy Kyle is a complete drain on society. He continues his personal tirade under the guise of 'let the show give you the help you deserve' and creating whoop and furore for the unwashed masses who apparently lap it up.

I think giving him any more reason to gnash his flappy mouthbits around is the wrong thing to do. Let's be clear; nobody wins but him.

Your situation is as follows: bedded a nutter, she's still showing nutty tendencies. Potentially expensive or time consuming ones.

If it were me, I'd visit a solicitor. I'd tell them the story (some have a free consultation half-hour) and I'd suggest I was going to pay for the paternity test, and the outcome will be one of the two:

* You're not the daddy: letter from the solicitor to her that you are under no legal or moral obligation to entertain any kind of conversation with her ever again, (in legalese)

* You are the daddy: arrange for CSA payments and a letter from the solicitor to her that you are under no legal or moral obligation to entertain any kind of conversation with her ever again, (in legalese)

Are you sure you're not thinking of pregnancy-tests?

I think they just test for the presence of DNA. Not even necessarily human. Or even a sentient genome.

Surely if you just stop paying her. Deny that it is your kid (citing whatever reasons you have for saying this) she would have to pay for a DNA test.

If you do go on the JK show, please please please twat the sanctimonious git.

I didnt know what the R word was either.

I don’t see the harm of going on as long as you can immune yourself from advocacy.

Let us know when your on, I'll tune in.
