Middle aged bint, gone and booked herself onto CBT in a couple of weeks. Is this what a female mid life crisis looks like? Anyway if all goes well on the CBT I intend to get a second hand 125 to develop my riding skills then go for DAS. Total riding experience = 10 whole minutes when I was a young 'un. Wish me luck chaps.

Sounds like a plan. It'll be hard - but it gets much easier very, very quickly. Just try not to freak out. Thumbs Up

I would, but being referred to as a 'chap' puts me off somewhat. Wink

Excellent, The more people on bikes the better.

Trying to look on the bright side of modern motorcycling, the way you now have to jump through hoops to get a M/C license means people have to be dedicated to get one, and, hopefully, after spending all that money on a license they will keep riding and not give it up after a while.

<Waits for MCW (Midlife Crisis Woman) to call breach of trademark>

Good on you. Biking really is splendid larks, and your plan is sound.

Just be prepared for the CBT to be a bit overwhelming. There's loads to get through and personally I feel a day is inadequate, especially considering the amount of time spent on waffle before you even get to the bikes.

Remember that it's training, not a test, and that you're the customer. Call a halt, ask questions, take a breather if you need it. I declined the road ride on my first try, went back on a 2nd day nice and rested and it had all fallen into place and was much easier and great fun one we were out of the yard and on to the road.

Good luck Smile.

I had a similar plan, do my CBT and wait a bit. I didn't last very long, ended up booking my DAS the week after!

I work in a mainly female workplace ( Thumbs Up Very Happy Thumbs Up ) and one of the bosses, who is a woman, refers to everyone as guys, as do I and no offence is taken. I think in some areas it is used to encompass both male and female.

Anyway...Good luck with it all marsden1967. I too got into biking later in life and a year after I started, one of my biggest regrets is not getting into it when I was much younger.

That's 10 minutes more experience than I had! I still went straight through CBT, Theory, DAS Mod 1 & 2 first time and straight onto a 600cc big bike. Wink

You'll be fine, be confident, take it easy and ward off them nerves. Young or old, lad or lass, so long as you practice and stay cool, there's no reason why you shouldn't blitz through the lot.
