Bit of a shameless plug really but having been made redundant a few months ago my best mate and I have launched our own business in marketing.

If you are considering running your own business DO IT!

It's risky yes, you will shit yourself at least once a day yes, however everything else about being your own boss is great! If like me, you are wondering what to do but have a skill set then i urge you to look into it!

And if any bikers out there need a web site, graphics, digital or traditional marketing with a twist head over to www.imaginativecows.com Smile

Good luck people!

I tried the self employed route as a web designer but couldn't design, I soon went to college and now know how to do it etc, still learning mind! I love the name much better than mine when I started as Purple Rainbow Doh! but like I said I had no idea what I was doing. I haven't had many clients but the ones I've done I'm really proud of and have good feedback when ever I show my work.

If you ever want to bounce ideas or need a bit of help with anything then PM me if you like? I find that seeking criticism is very important to improving designs and so on plus I could learn a thing or two from you and your friend. Thumbs Up Smile

Just being pedantic, is it about digital marketing?

The site just shouts 'Peens' to me, and the services says "a wealth of services to help your business grow" which is cool as a subtle sales pitch goes, but just wording.

Like; 'moving forwards' or 'Key Point Indicators' ones that are used in management meetings.

I wanna know what you do, how can you help ME? Thumbs Up

No idea what it really means but thought I should let you know that that's what my ISP thinks of you're site Thinking

I can get onto all sorts of porno and other shit so it's not that there's some kind of kid's filter that I don't know about. This is the first time it's ever happened on my computer.

Sounds good to me dude, its always nice to meet people in the same boat, and i agree, finding good critic is quite hard these days!

@will - yes of course, would love to work with some bikers for a change Smile BCF price - standard, we have to help each other out dont we - afterall its part of our sport!

Steve - 90% of our current business comes from word of mouth, the website is not really designed as a first contact portal, hence why there are no call to actions and such things. Our marketing is direct most of the time. We will most to counter digital/SEO based campaigns with landing pages designed for that specific role, however this needs capital which is best spent elsewhere - bare in mind we are a startup.

SA1988 - wow thats a new one, weve not seen that before! Could i ask what browser you are using? and which ISP? ie: internet explorer on sky?

Not a bad site IMHO, however, some of the white menu items are lost, maybe either use white+black outline, or balance the colour accordingly.

Good luck on your venture though Thumbs Up

Tested on 5 OS's, 4 browsers on each from 4 different ISPs. Sophos says its fine, as does ESET.

Safe enough for me Thumbs Up
