Hello. Currently taking mod 1 lessons on a 650cc Kwak ER6N. My problem is that I use a 125 to commute every day and that's given me some bad habits particular with slow ride control (leaning and going too fast). It's not that I can't do it on the ER6N it's just that I'm so used to how the 125 clutch feels (or doesn't Razz) it takes me a while to adapt to the ER6N when I'm training and I know that you only get one shot to get it right in the test! I usually fluff it a bit and then after a few attempts get the hang of it on the big bike.

Anyone got any tips on how to ride a 125 like it's a big bike so I can practice in my own time and blow my instructor away in my next lesson instead of winding him up with my flakey skills?!

I'd just go down a carpark/industrial estate etc and practice a lot of slow speed control, it will obviously varie some what from the ER6 as you say the clutch feels slightly different, but if you 'master it' on the 125, as soon as you get the clutch bite comfortably in your mind after a few minutes on the bigger bike it should help a lot Thumbs Up

Me and my friend who did our licenses around the same time years back bought a set of these to share and pissed about the local supermarket after-hours for a few days, fairly sure it helped, but either way was a laugh Laughing

As for going too fast, just go easy on the throttle Razz

Got some five-a-side cones off eBay and now on first name terms with the overnight security guards at Toys R' Us. Smile

Let the tyres down and put a fat bird on the pillion seat.

Swap the engine for an R6 one or fit a flux capacitor and you won't even need roads
