I bought this..
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/230976273698

I'm very sceptical about its ability to keep my fairings intact if I drop my bike. Hard not to feel like I just wasted 16 quid.

At first I was going to pay 90 quid for R&G.. but the fairings needed to be trimmed (read: damaged Twisted Evil ) in order to fit them so that put me off.

I got those "gems" for 16 quid instead.. Now, any pros/cons to fit them or not? Mr. Green Embarassed

I would be more concerned about the frame bending, assuming they don't come with the correct strength bolts, IF the bike get chucked down the road.

They look a little Erm Small!?

Hard to see how they are going to offer much protection given the size of them.

As above, full impact directly on the frame?

R&G say my fairing requires drilling for them to fit, would I rather have a 8mm hole or no plastic... Laughing

Looks to me like something with a protection value of a parking/drop at the lights, but no more than that.

They look about as effective as a catflap in an elephant house.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

They don't seem strong enough to cause any damage to the frame. It's to be attached to the frame with M6 bolt (same as the fairing bolts lol).

It will probably snap and my fairings will get damaged anyway Laughing

It may be the same size, M6, but the density of the steel can be very different.

I wouldnt use them mate.

Fit them with brass bolts of the correct size. The bolts will be destroyed before the frame that way.

I owned a 6R G2 for 7 years and just bought the R+G kit which did the job. It's only expensive because of the need to replace the water bottle on the 6R which R+G usually offer a £10 rebate if you send them your old one.

Those little bits are useless and with a decent impact with just punch a hole through the panel.

Replace the 6mm steel bolts with aluminium ones, they will be far easier to drill out.

I think I won't bother.

Hopefully I won't drop the bike until I replace it with something newer (B1H) next year / end of this year.
