I guess the clue would be in the "Race can" part ____________________ The mistresses: 2000 Honda CBR600f, 2000 Honda VTR1000 |

Basically if a can says "Not for road use" or "Race use only" then it cant be used on the road.
And I cant reeeeally be bothered to look it up but i'm pretty sure the only laws surround exhausts are that of noise and emissions. So if it's loud and smelly as fuck then probably not going to be legal.
But just because they're not legal doesn't mean you shouldn't use them... It's only a problem if you get stopped/caught ____________________ The mistresses: 2000 Honda CBR600f, 2000 Honda VTR1000 |

Most likely be fine until MOT time, then you an just tape over the race bit or dremel and polish it off.
This was not legal at all...

Yeah, I guess since it doesn't say road legal on the stubby ones, I guess it's not. ____________________

Other way around. You can't put "road legal" on a can to make it so.
There used to be all sorts of tosh about kite / e markings, but I believe that's been done away with. It's not mentioned in the 2005 manual from motinfo.gov.uk
Fails are:
A silencer which is in such a condition or is of such a type that the noise emitted is clearly in excess of that which would be produced by a similar machine fitted with a standard silencer in average condition.
A silencer marked 'NOT FOR ROAD USE', TRACK USE ONLY' or similar words. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.
