Hi all, just started my CG up to go for a ride and noticed two things. First was using the rear brake, when using it to slow down it's fine, and on slow maneuvers but when using it with the front brake to come to a complete stop it creaks on the way down then squeaks on the way up.

The second sound is a quiet constant ticking that I haven't noticed before. How worried should I be?

The brake noise is probably where the pivot point needs lubricating. To do this you will need to slide the brake out of the frame, grease it & re install it.
The ticking noise may be the valve clearance.

Cheers, I was leaning that way on the brake situation as it still works fine.
I'll check the valve clearance when I get a chance (probably early part of next week) is there anything else I should look out for?

Got to say, I love this forum, any small issue and instant advice Smile

depends what u consider a ticking noise to be.

But i encountered a problem with what i'd describe as a 'ticking' noise on my bike, was more like a repetitive clunky/ticky noise, ended up being seized links in chain and worn sprocket.

To check if it's a worn chain/sprockets put ur bike up on the centre stand and spinn your rear wheel (while the bikes off) with ur hand, if it makes the noise then its most likely chain/sprockets.

If the clicking noise is engine speed related...possibly valves....if its road speed related then chain

Cheers guys, I'll try checking the chain etc at work tomorrow (only has side stand, but plenty at work to get the rear off the ground)
