Noticed engine braking down from a specific rev range my bike makes some popping sounds, reminds me of my bros CG when you let it down from the top end of the revs it sort of farts and pops

Is bad?
Worried it might be valves or something Surprised

Didn't seem to do it at first (or at least I never noticed) seems to be a new thing...

I quite like it but it's probably bad Laughing

Aftermarket exhaust?

As long as it doesn't do it while you're accelerating it's fine.

Unburnt fuel igniting in the exhaust.

Cruising with the killswitch on draws fuel through the engine, but with no spark it just passes into the exhaust, when you flick the killswitch back the engine fires again and the hot exhaust gasses ignite all the unburnt fuel in the exhaust.

A popping exhaust can be caused by running lean as well.
