Hey there,
Apparantly the max speed of a restricted Cagiva Mito is about 75 / 80 mph, but when derestricted to 32bhp and with the correct sprokets on they should be good for just a tiny bit over the ton. Not quite sure because ive only ridden one around a car park, but all the books say around those speeds. Very Happy
Dunno about any videos, but I expect someone will reply who does.
Cheers, Jonathan

Hi

The Mito and RS have virtually the same top speed. Probably less than 1mph in it. Most tests the Mito seems to come out marginally quicker, but not always.

In either case the speedos are miles out (they are about as accurate as licking your finger and sticking it into the air to guess the speed).

All the best

Keith

Mito evo = pure ownage!

standard around 65mph, *cough* (adjusted slightly) around 110mph, but thats in straight line with the wind behind you!

certainly the best buy for a 125cc and the best looker!

The actual real top speed (not what the speedo say!) is about 100mph give or take a bit. Thumbs Up

just a bit off topic, but l had a ride on my dads 1957 BSA C12 last week and thoses old things have a Chronological speedo (like a clock with gears etc) which ticks around to the speed like a clock, Apparently this is much more Accurate as it is a phsical connection than the two magnetic disks used in modern speedos

A mito won't do 110mph, my tzr250 has just over 51bhp at the rear wheel and it's top speed in reviews is 117mph. I've had over 125mph out of it going by the clock (off the clock that is). Mito's only have about half the power than what i have at the back wheel.

I think 95-100mph is about right depending on conditions.

I have rode with two rs's now [..] but top speed I have about 2 or 3 mph advantage, which is great on the dualcarridgeways.

So all the RS's I have came across are slower than my Mito.

Maybe i'm missing something, but:
a) Why is 3mph on your top speed so important?
and
b) How do you know you have 2 or 3mph on an RS125?

If you were talking about on a race track, or on a dragtrack etc, then that would be fair enough. But you specifically mention dual carriageways. I'm not trying to be a killjoy here, but this seems pretty dangerous and also foolish to me. Doing 100mph on a dual carriageway on its own wouldn't be too bad, but your post implies you're racing against your mates, going flat out, and being close enough to work out that you can do 3mph more at the top end! Maybe this explains why there's a 33bhp limit when you first get a license...

Hi

3mph is about walking pace, so is quite noticeable. Not really that relevant in the real world though.

However the road tests tended to show less than a 1mph difference in top speed between the Mito and the RS.

All the best

Keith

my speeds are approx btw, as clocks on bikes are never 100% unless your calibrated *cough* copper!

I think that the mito's and rs's are roughly the same in power output when tweeked up, it depends on conditions and experience to get your best top speed

anyways... let the image posting begin!

A difference in speed equal to walking pace isn't really much at all and that's just a random guess I suspect.

Well I'm sure you'll get lots of support on here (and here being this country Razz) for wanting all vehicles limited t0 70mph. Rolling Eyes Thumbs Up

Not all of them. Well going by the number of questions I've had about it and the number of bids there are quite a lot out there who will try anything to get their bike or scooter to go faster. Laughing Laughing
