Looks tidy! Is it restricted?

How does it compare from the Gpz?

Thumbs Up

Thanks, the GPZ will be missed, particularly the exhaust noise! But I've sold it to my Dad so I might get it back at some point.

Because I had the later version of the GPZ power is roughly the same on paper, but the Yamaha is much more grunty low down and has slightly more top end.
Brakes have more intial bite, and obviously the seating position is much more sat up and the lack of fairing is noticeable but not really missed.
Suspension is much better on the Yamaha also.

Cheers!

I did my DAS on these, mod 1 on a naked and mod 2 on a faired model. Loved it really, very comfortably to ride and a decent amount of power. Would definitely consider one as a do-it-all bike in years to come.

Nice bike. I've been toying with the idea of downsizing and this is one of the bikes right at the top of the "next bike" list.

I've got the S (semi faired) and id describe the bike as beige or magnolia?

It does everything it says on the tin but your pubes will not be set on fire.

Looks good in the yellow.

Did my tests on an XJ6-N as well.
Can't fault it at all except to say that I got bastard cramp at one point during my DAS but then I had been on it all day and done about 100 miles.
Fully intended buying one before I tested the Triple. Thumbs Up

A tarty little exhaust end piece will be fitted at some point!
It's know it's not massively exciting or fast bike compared to what you can buy, but it's still good enough to put a stupid grin on my face.
I did nearly buy a Street Triple, but this came up at a price I couldn't refuse, I'm looking towards a Z1000 for my next bike Twisted Evil .

Little update. Still really enjoying the XJ6N. Much more suited to the riding I do. Bought a few little bits for it too.

Looking good! Does the tarty exhaust end piece make any difference to the noise ?

Chain and sprockets were changed literally the week after that photo.
The noise has become slightly deeper and louder. Not much though, would need a full system if you wanted noise. Would have even disappointed if I had bought it new but for the price I paid its a nice little addition.

Have you fitted a trumpet instead of an exhaust to announce your arrival? Wink

I prefer the GPZ's swingarm, I think the XJ is really nice apart from that.

Agree that the XJ swingarm looks like a bit of an afterthought, wouldn't have taken much to give it a little more shape when they designed it.
