Renthal Bar Ends won't attach? Anybody know how they do?

My throttle was sticking earlier so I took the right grip and tube off, and to do so the bar end had to come off. I'm not sure if a bolts fallen inside or something but the bar and won't reattach. The Allen screw isn't gripping to anything behind the spacer which has come out.

I looked on the left hand side and took it off, but the spacers stuck in and I can't see behind it, and now this bar end won't tighten. Had to go to work so just left them off for the time being?

Does anybody know how they attach, if it's a bolt, how does it stay in behind the spacer? Thanks

The Renthal bars have a smaller diameter than a lot of standard bars, so they have a sleeve type thing which reduces the internal diameter of the bar (or increases the external diameter of the bar end weight) to fit.

Have you lost this when you took it off?

I bought the bike with the bars on, supposidly they're 7/8 renthals but I'm not sure if they're real - the guy said they were lol...

By the sleave, do you mean the black plastic washer in the end? One of the bars has this stuck on the end but the other is lose and fell out.

I can't remember what I mean by the sleeve. It's been a while since I fitted mine. It's like a reducer type thing

Yea, you're missing something.

Normally they either have a tube of rubber which when tightened expands out to press against the inside of the bar, or a long nut cut at an angle with a matching long angled spacer/washer, so when it's tightened they again push against the sides of the inside of the bar.

yep you're missing a nut at the end. it'll have rolled into the bar.

it site just under the rubber i think, then when turning the screw it bunches up the rubber thus pushing it out to grip the inside of the bar

Ended up getting them back on. Blew down the pipe to get one of the nuts out but the other has disappeared somewhere?! They're locking nuts so to ensure they tighten and don't just spin inside the bar.

I replaced the other with a nut I found lying about, tightened it up outside the bar and knocked it in with a mallet
