last couple of weeks noticed speedo has been fluctuating a little and was meaning to get it sorted but on way home today the speedo was workin then i set of from some traffic lights and speedo just stayed at zero, I pulled over and it appears to be connected in the back of the speedometer correctly any ideas what else would cause this?
thanks

Cables snapped, most likely. Get a replacement off ebay and get it fitted, usually a 10 minute job. You might find your mileage doesn't increase either

Remove the cable and check the ends are still connected.

Probably snapped.

I concur the cable has snapped possibly no doubt due to rust because it happened to mine in the past nearer to the front fork end of it where it usually gets the most abuse from the outside elements where muck/crap and water gets thrown at it where it is screwed onto.

Remove the old one and replace it asap!
