Certainly looks fantastic. Samsung is expected to reveal the Samsung Galaxy S4 officially on the 14th of March. Some stand-out features include the phone being able to be used as a VISA pay-pass and a projected keyboard.

I'm presuming you mean Visa PayWave, PayPass is a Mastercard thing. I'm also presuming it'll be about as much use as NFC payment has been for the last couple of years. The UK doesn't seem to have a good uptake rate for use at point of sale, let alone banks leveraging the support of e-wallets Rolling Eyes

I dislike the touch buttons on the glass. I preferred physical buttons at the bottom for home, menu etc. My current HTC has the glass buttons and they are not as nice to use as my old one.

Scores of iPhone owners with dead Home buttons would disagree, but I see where you're coming from.

Nope.

Seems like that title now belongs to the Xperia Z:

Quote:
It’s taken Sony a while to get there, but the company has finally joined the quad-core club with this flagship phone. Inside that skinny case beats a 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro chip, backed by a roomy 2GB of RAM. This makes it one of the fastest Android phones around, and the usual gamut of benchmark tests reveal some truly fearsome power. Antutu Benchmark gives the phone a score of 20,031, pulverising the Samsung Galaxy S3’s 12,467, while Quadrant Standard awards the phone a 7,995, which trumps the HTC One X’s rating of 4,904.

In GLBenchmark 2.5.1’s Egypt HD on-screen test, the Xperia Z clocks a score of 3,399 at 30 frames per second, and Vellamo -- which tests web performance -- rates the phone at 2,185, beating both the Galaxy S3 (1,580) and the HTC One X (1,625).

Finally, there’s the Epic Citadel benchmark, in which the Xperia Z earns a rating of 56.6 frames per second on the high performance test and 55.7 on the high quality test. This is one seriously powerful blower, and no mistake.

There's loads of phones more powerful than the S3 including the iPhone 5, HTC One X+ & Nexus 4. It's old tech now, in the Android world phones are the "best on the market" for about 2 weeks.

I still challenge OP to actually talk about something motorbike related, as I said in the other thread he posted in. He has blatantly been Googling for S3 vs. iPhone thread and just wants to lick Samsungs bum hole.

The S4 looks good, I'm sure it'll be marketed very well which is what Samsung are good at, I see more S3's and Note II's these days over iPhones. The problem I have is the screen size is bigger (5"), my phones is 4.7" which is pushing it, if I didn't have big hands it'd annoy me for sure.

Tell me about it. In the last generation of phones it was getting silly. Once you go over about 4.3" you end up with a stupidly bulging pocket and it gets increasingly harder to use the phone one handed.

I was offered a HTC One X, but after having a go on a display model I went for the smaller One S. It still does everything I need it too anyway.

Now all the flagship phones are going to 5". I wont be getting one.

I have held off getting the Note II and S3 to wait for this. As for screen size it doesn't bother me. Owned a Galaxy Nexus and once you get used to it everything else seems tiny. 5" should be fine.

The only feature of the Xperia Z that I find intriguing is the waterproofing. Ye gods how I wish the S3 had that Neutral Other than that I've been more than happy with the S3 and won't be upgrading for a while, Woo makes an interesting point about comics but I'd have trouble enjoying them on anything smaller than a 10" panel I suspect (what I'm used to) and the 4.8" screen on the phone is fine for books.

S4 should be decent, I await in anticipation.

I hope it is 1080P.
Decent battery or function like the Sony Stamina thing where you can select loads of options to turn off when the screen is off, even though it does already have power save mode.
Better camera.
Bigger memory.
Better quality feel. (Yep 90% of the people I know with smart phones use a case, but still)

I do like how the Xperia Z looks, and the camera seems wicked in the sense of the sensor allowing good shots in bright sunny days etc...

As for 5 inches etc... I find it OK. I walk around with a Nexus 7 in some trousers at times, and the S3 fits in fine. Holding it is perfect and my hands aren't even that large.

The extra .3 of an inch should not be too different to hold since the outter edges of the phone from top to bottom aren't that much different.

For me to get a new phone it needs to have:

Swift Key 3 for the flow mode. I can't type normally now, the swipe style is very easy to use and I am fast on it now.
I advise others to trial the month for free, and see how it goes. Trust me it is brilliant.

I need a good battery. I use Juice Defender at times, but prefer a battery that has more MAH. I bought an Anker 4400 Mah capacity battery which is superb but makes the back quite thick. Meh. However having over 50% at 10 PM with heavy use is nice to have.

Better speed for browsing internet, but more importantly, the phones signal strength. I rarely use 3g Mode, but at times when I need reception in difficult places, I don't have it.

Widget capability. I am use to quick access to apps or the ability to click and read articles like Flip Board. In fact the widget often shows a headline that makes me intrigued and I use it.

Fast camera shutter speed. I have become a phone picture taking addict and need the camera to load up quickly. The addiction is kind of out of control.

64 Gig+ I don't want to rely on cloud and at times without wifi or HSPDA/3G, I am stuck. I listen to Islamic talks etc... and they add a lot of Gigs.

Notification light that has different colours. I.E. The S3 has a small round light that shows red for miss call, green for a text, white for a whatsapp. Sometimes I am busy and only look at my phone and sort of see what is urgent or not.

Block number mode. Fuk loads of sales calls somehow these days.

Whatsapp capability. Much needed app.

Nova launcher App capability. I find the ability to customise my home screen, icons etc... really handy. I am a type to adjust and change things. It's almost like my bike where I kept buying bits and bobs.

Not being funny or owt, but why would 1080p be essential on a screen 5" big?!

It isn't essential, but I would like to have that screen if I video in full HD. It's a good selling point to me.

Yeah I know most are, but it's just something I need now. I rarely text at all. So if any phone can't have whatsapp, then FO! LOL.

Swift Key is awesome. I find it superb over any other keyboard. When texting, I have the I Phone theme because I do like how the conversation is done. Standard format sucks.

As for a 5.5 Inch screen, I can imagine it being awesome. I have the Nexus 7 and even though it's not the best screen, the size is great. Videos are awesome on it. I have even started using it for word documents over my laptop.

You can't tell the difference between 720p and 1080p on a 32" display. (because you are not an eagle) But as you said "it is a good selling point".
I bet you want a 13 mega pixel camera as well. Even if it is worse than my 12 year old 2 megapixel digicam.

Too bad the market is driven by the noobs. Manufacturers can't see the obvious due to this very reason. i.e crap ram speeds.
